Finally getting around to working on some of my own stuff from my 2015 trip. Kudu is right at 60"s although horns not picture. Included my bushbuck, steenbuck and diker also. Base isn't completely finished but stuff is generally in the right place.

I just noticed while I was moving stuff around the scenery kudu skull shifted and fell left. It leans up against the middle post. I haven't attached the kudu horns that go with mount yet. It is cumbersome when they are attached which is a good thing :)

This is going to be an impressive mount

Very cool idea, look forward to the finished product!

I like it, look forward to the finished mount!

Very creative!

Going to be very cool, great use of space

^ this.

Ha- you know a taxidermist' own stuff goes last. I have finished the base and plan to mount the steenbuck next week, but probably wont have it all finished until fall.

Gizmo- here's where it currently sits, with base finished up and changed duiker after getting an opinion from Dennis on it.

Cant wait to see it finished!

Looking good my man!

Ok so I finally found enough free time to get it finished between Memorial Day holiday and this week. I realize most people here don't know or care fro that matter  but i received a big job promotion last Sept that resulted in my working 3hrs from "my home". My wife will eventually join me in another year but she has some personal commitments that she wanted to fulfill before leaving so I have a small apartment in downtown Houston where I stay M-Friday lunch. I had a fairly involved second job as a taxidermist with a robust, repeat customer base which I walked away from because of my new living arrangements. I have plenty of free time of my hands in the evenings during the week, but the 1 bdrm apt isn't conducive to my hobby  I have since found another hobby to feed my creative side, which I'll show at the end of this slide show. I'm pretty happy with the end result- hope you enjoy.

It seems the flash on mu iphone camera really brought through the fleshy undertones of the kudu nose (4 layers of paint) but I promise it doesn't look quite that light in person

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.
