Mixology report, whats your favorite mixed drink?

Nearing Kentucky Derby time here! Instead of a Mint Julep I recommend the Man O’War.
2 parts bourbon
1 part orange flavored liquor
1/2 part sweet and sour mix
1/2 part sweet vermouth
shake with ice, strain into chilled coupe glass, garnish with orange peel.
Enjoy while watching the “Fastest 2 minutes in Sports”!!

Normally I drink the WIG cocktail, whiskey in glass.
Cheers everyone.

If you are ever in Canada or have a Canadian friend to get you a bottle, this is the bomb! If you are in anyway a fan of maple syrup this is the ultimate, straight up, on ice, over ice cream or in a cocktail! Yum yum!

Penicillin-

25ml of Lagavulin
25ml of a decent Speyside or Highland
25ml of honey syrup
25ml of lemon juice.

Shake it to death, pour over ice.

Better than medicine. Cures everything.

Gotta try this one out

Antifreeze
6 to 8 straight Bundy Rums then you don't care about the cold

Bob,
Some of those limited edition aged Bundy varieties are quite nice straight.
Straight rum is a little rough.
Bundaberg rum in Bundaberg ginger beer is prime.
The ginger beer alone is probably my favourite soft drink.
Not zing or bite, it's just right

Truth be told the cold never bothered me that much but Bundaberg produce did on an occasion ;-)

I love Australia but as far as Rum is concerned Caribbean is the place to go.

Why not have a double whammy
Alcoholic ginger beer and Bundy
Or just alcoholic ginger beer { root beer}
Bob

whiskey, (scotch or bourbon) ice and a touch of water.

btw, was over at velo dogs house yesterday helping him remove a couple trees and he paid off in beer. it was Molsons, a canadian beer. tasted VERY similar to castle beer, that i enjoyed in SA. was a very interesting experience to feel the "vibe" of SA in anchorage ak. thanks velo dog! i need to buy some Molsons!

If you wanna go out on a limb:

Seelbach
1 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz cointreau
Peychauds/Angostura Bitters
Champagne to fill, garnish with orange twist.

**champagne makes the bourbon work faster, be careful
As Derby is coming up, I just had this again. A great alternative to juleps, even if you like your bourbon straight. I used four roses small batch.

Given this *is* the Africa Hunting forum, I'd go with a Lion's Tail.

INGREDIENTS

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce allspice dram
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
If you can't find St Elizabeth's Allspice Dram, you can make your own out of allspice berries and rum.

Martini
3 shots Tangueray
1 shot vodka
1 cap dry vermouth
3 olives and a little juice
4 -5 drops Angustora bitters

I keep my Vodka and gin in the freezer. No ice needed to chill

If not Miller Lite or Red Wine....I go for a scotch & water on ice. Will do an occasional margarita on ice with no salt. Pretty basic here.

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
