Safari Club International (SCI) was pleased to host ten legislators during our 45th Annual Hunters’ Convention in Las Vegas. SCI counts nearly 25,000 hunters, conservationists, guides, and outfitters attending the SCI Convention. Attending SCI Convention gives legislators a unique opportunity to interact with hunters, outdoor industry, and constituents to discuss issues that affect our community.
On Friday evening, those Members of Congress present at the Convention were introduced on stage during a widely attended banquet. SCI personally recognized each of these individuals for their staunch advocacy and defense of our hunting heritage. That same night, Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) accepted SCI’s Federal Legislator of the Year award. SCI recognized Senator Daines for his dedication to protecting and preserving our hunting heritage through wildlife conservation, education, and legislative efforts.
SCI would like to extend a special thank you to all the legislators who attended the 45th Annual Hunters’ Convention that took place February 1-4, 2017. The legislators in attendance included: Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Rep. Jeff Denham (R-CA), Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Rep. George Holding (R-NC), Rep. Billy Long (R-MO), Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO), Rep. David Valadao (R-CA), state Senator Mark Maynard (R-WV), and SCI’s 2016 Federal Legislator of the Year Award Winner Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT).
