guys just booked my safari for 2013, and need to fill some time . About 3 to 4 days June 28 on , would like it to be around Joberg any ideas

Carnivores and if it's in the budget (though not Joberg area) I would recommend seeing Victoria Falls via Zambia.

there is some great birdshooting in south africa at that time of the year - what will you be hunting for prior to that ..

this time Nayla , bushbuck , springbok , warthog and hopfully a Caracol

Did vic falls 2 years ago but on the Zim side , there are 5 of us this time and it looks like I will be driving, for the first 4 days they may want to clear out of the country for a while

Either a bit of bird shooting with someone like Andrew McLaren or Jaco Human or a trip the KNP for a few days.

Has to be something within say 2 hours of Joberg ?????

Jaco Human is who you need then. He's a diamond & his prices are VERY reasonable. Search on SA Hunting Experience to find him.

thanks will do

Oi ! :nonono:See Vic Falls Via Zambia???????!!!!
Zimbabwe still has the best view of the place and the best accommodation set ups....far more friendly too....who's side you on anyhow?!

ya Stayed with russel calacot at his place in zim loved the people

Russel 'Roundlegs' Caldecott of 'Ultimate Lodge' runs a nice friendly and comfortable lodge with great atmosphere. Lots of interesting people in and out of there all the time. Lots of hunting types meet there. It was a favourite stop over for clients and the PH's after or before hunts. His fishing guides also know the river better than most I've ever seen and know where the fish are and how to catch them!

Ole Bally very true I had the most interesting evening with John Sharp last year also met uncle Mike Bunce, what a guy!!!!

Great place lots of personality.

My best always.

Didn't Russ "shut shop" a while back?

It operates under a different name but he is still going just on a smaller scale...

My best always.

He's still going on a much smaller scale (keeps greedies) of his back, under a different name something like wheels against all odds or something like that..

My best always.

Mmmm, Ole Bally me thinks you could be a tiny bit biased here :p. you need to keep up to date and check out the hotels/lodges on the zambian side, some with infinity pools and your own butler , not too shabby ;) have they sorted out the cattlemans ?as last time i was there i took some friends to eat there. i was looking forward to the chicken livers pirri-pirri to start followed by a proper sized steak, but the place was bug..red . nails sticking out of the stools and i had the last beer they had, and no steaks!!!! my friends took one look and said there was no way they would eat there, and must have thought i had made it up when telling them how good it was there.....it was prob about 5 or so years ago, so hopefully its sorted now.best chicken livers ever had. :drooling:

Jaco i think the wheels against all odds is a charity project russell is involved with . amongst other things i think they help get disabled people mobile with wheel chairs etc that are donated from overseas. presume thats where the name comes from......look up www.friendsofshamwari.org . then click on partnerships at the top.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
