First hunt I went to with a supposedly good outfitter in West TX was a bust.
This time I'm looking to hear from fellow members of this forum.
TIA.

I have not hunted with him but he is at the top of my list when I get to Aoudad in a few years. He has a great reputation on Texas Hunting Forum since 2007 and there is plenty of info out there on him as well.
www.westtexashunt.com

You can also contact Cibolo Creek directly. This is "head on pillow each night in the lodge" type hunt. Not sure exactly what you are looking for but I hear very high success rate. It is on my list but have not done it yet personally.

I know these guys and they take some big Aoudad. Mellon Creek Outfitters
Give Hagen a call.

Do any of these do semi guided or outfitted hunts? My brother and on would love to have one where they set up camp or the cabin or whatever and then maybe have some sim pre scouting and point us in the right direction but he and I run our own hunt for the most part. Looking for something more than following the guide around.

Did you see any? Care to share your experience with us? Not asking for outfitters name. Did the land you hunt meet your expectation of what you'd thought it would be?

Give Chet at High Desert Hunting a call at 432-386-6626. I hunted with him last year and was very happy. He has several areas with lots of aoudad.

Mike at westtexashunt did have some self guided hunt options on some of his properties in the past.
I've hunted with him twice way back when fully guided was only 2500

I hunted Aoudad on the coal mine ranch south of Valentine, very remote and free range, very scenic and an incredible drive in.

I would call Stephen West with Desert Safaris LLC

There is a hunt report on here with a very respected member. He rated it a high hunt.

I’m lucky enough to hunt with friends. But if were to spend money I would call Stephen West for an aoudad hunt.

I love hunting them in the Trans Pecos region / Davis mountain range area.

My best buddy @gearhead7 is a great aoudad hunter and is a true expert on them. I’m lucky to hunt with him often! I’ve learned a lot from hunting with him

PM if you have any question I’ll try and help.

I HAVE NOT HUNTED AOUDAD WITH THEM BUT MY SON AND I DID HUNT MULIES WITH THEM AND HAD A GREAT HUNT. NO REASON FOR ME TO THINK DESERT SAFARIS WOULD NOT PUT YOU ON A GOOD AOUDAD (THOUGH IT IS HUNTING, NOT SHOOTING).

Who was this first hunt with and what caused it to be a bust? Thanks

I hunted on the Baracho Peak ranch about 5 years ago. They have a new outfitter, I shot an ok one.

The New Mexico hunts guy out of Artesia has hunts near Alpine, Backcountry Hunts.

I love hunting aoudad and accept every invitation I get.
I would head to Mexico for a more affordable trip, however you will need to get a cites permit from Mexico to import your trophy.( for some odd reason)
Cielo ranch and a few others around valentine, or the glass mountain area are my top picks.
Facebook has a barbery sheep hunting page worth joining
Here are a few pictures of some of the rams I didn’t leave laying on the mountains ( they used to be considered vermin by the ranchers and shot on site)
