Looking for 460wby

have you thought about a 450 Rigby build instead?
Do you have a steady source of 450 rigby brass? The 460 weatherby ALWAYS has brass available thanks to weatherby's great team keeping brass for all weatherby rifles as in stock as they can. You can easily load down the 460 weatherby by shooting slower than necessary powders for lower pressure and velocity without risking hangfires of too little case fill.

I'm not OP, but I just did some searching and every site on the first page of google says 450 rigby is out of stock or discontinued. Hardly something I'd personally be willing to go head in on a build for. I like the idea of knowing 10-20 years from now I can still get brass easily if necessary

Going after 460 because I already load for it and have brass and dies. If my brother wasn’t a lefty I would have a rifle also but didn’t work out that way lol

A few of different ways to take it. Buy brass as available but I understand it’s harder to get right now as the 450 seems to be gaining popularity. Buy factory loaded ammo, fairly easy to get right now, and reuse the brass. Lastly, use 416R brass, which is everywhere and resize it. Don’t need a lot of brass, not like a 308 where you shoot a box or 2 in one outing. I shoot 5 or 6 rounds and I’m done

If someone wants to buy a rifle caliber 460 Weatherby Magnum, I would not discourage them. If they are not too picky about the rifle, they will definitely get it cheaper than one caliber 450 Rigby. This cartridge, except for its design without a belt, only offers advantages when it comes to factory loads as these are loaded to a reasonable practical level, which is still not the case with the cartridge 460 Weatherby Magnum. But if you are reloader, that is not a problem.

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
