Lightweight medium bore?

Hi,
Looking for right direction for lightweight medium bore bolt action rifle 7.5 or less 20-22” barrel ~2K. Sadly marked availability only points at Sako with their ejection issues. Yes I know lived through it different turret style and higher scope rings will fix issues, still too annoying. Had Ruger Alaskan 375 but sold it (dummy). Was looking at Ruger no1 RSI and no1 Lion in 375 Ruger. But can’t pull myself to own single shot. So, what else is over there.

(no plans to use it for Safari hunts)
I’ve got a CZ 550 FS 9.3x62 that might be up your alley. It would be a package deal that would come in a little under 2k.

Have you considered a used Kimber?

I had not a really good experience kimber mountain rifles. Know nothing about mid mid bore kimber. If you can please insight me on mid bore kimber

Sorry, just an idea. I have a friend in Idaho who swears by his Kimber in .325 which is what gave me the idea. I have never owned one.

I have a Weatherby Ultra light in 338-06, you can find them used under $2,000. It’s super accurate and a dream to carry.

I had a Kimber 8400 in 338 federal that was tiny and might work for you. Used only as well.

A rem model 7 in 350 rem would be interesting? Mannlicher or SS synthetic would be really cool. Lots of them floating around.

I don't know what you mean by this. Are you trying to compare the Blaser R8 to a Bighorn Armory lever action?

I know nothing of Bighorn Armory lever actions except that they are going for around $2.5K and only chambered in pistol (albeit large caliber) cartridges. Why not send it back and use the money to fund a bolt action mid-bore?
This is good advice. What the hell are those guns good for? Expensive to shoot regularly and not very powerful, but gives you enough velocity to overpower its projectiles.
No. I implied that if i didn’t spend 3.5k on Bighorn. I would definitely at this moment add 2k and got R8. And sad part that I’ll get my Bighorn next March do to production backlog
Cancel it and get your money back. Not saying you have to spend it on an R8...but you could get something more useful.

I’m happy with my Weatherby Vanguard Safari in .375 H&H. It has a 24” barrel so doesn’t check all your blocks and not a lot of Weatherby fans on here but if you’re keen, I just so happen to know where a brand new one is sitting on the shelf. Also under 8 pounds and clearly under your budget. Just a thought. Don’t shoot the messenger.

Not bad at all. Look like not in production anymore.

The browning X-bolt does make for a nice lightweight .375 rifle complete with factory iron sights. I took a young bull moose here in Alberta several years ago with mine. Nice rifle for that hunt especially being in stainless steel which I do like in winter conditions. Recoil not too bad with the weight of the rings, 1.5-5x leupold , full mag and sling. Out of the box with no extras this light .375 is a hard kicker with full power factory loads. Even with my mildly loaded hornady 270gr interlocks it pushes pretty good…
If one can handle the bare rifle recoil without flinching, you can carry it one handed all day long. Something to be said about that.

I can not imagine they are sodered on. They are supposed to be NECG sights (at least a few years ago when I checked). Not quite as good as some iron sights but serviceable if you need them.
