Hi,
Looking for right direction for lightweight medium bore bolt action rifle 7.5 or less 20-22” barrel ~2K. Sadly marked availability only points at Sako with their ejection issues. Yes I know lived through it different turret style and higher scope rings will fix issues, still too annoying. Had Ruger Alaskan 375 but sold it (dummy). Was looking at Ruger no1 RSI and no1 Lion in 375 Ruger. But can’t pull myself to own single shot. So, what else is over there.

(no plans to use it for Safari hunts)

There may be some new Savage lightweight hunters (I think was the name) with wood stock floating around still. You can probably be at 7 pounds with a leupold 2.5-8x36. The 308 is a handy cartridge and recoil should be more than manageable

Edit: It would look like this

Thank you, but I’m looking want for medium bore 33 to 375

In that case, I would look at a Browning Xbolt in 375hh. You probably aren't going to find a 375 at 6.75 and 7.0 pounds bare rifle. Push fed with a good detachable magazine.

I'm very pleased with my Verney-Carron impact plus bolt action in 9.3x62. Light, very accurate, and powerful. Smooth action and a good value at under US $2000. But, you don't say where you are from so I assume USA, and I'm not sure if they are available in the USA.

Savage 110 Brush Hunter in 375RUGER. Bare rifle weighs 7.38 with 20" barrel and iron sights. Stainless and synthetic with a detachable magazine. However it appears everyone else has the same idea because I can't find one anywhere.

My Blaser R8 in 375H&H weighs 7.75# and is a pleasure to shoot, although it doesn't meet your price requirement.

Since you specify bolt action take a look at Ruger 77 or American in 358 Winchester or 338 federal or in long 35 Whelan. My preference for Mannlicher stocks Led me to a CZ 550 FS in 9.3x62, a Ruger 77 RSI,and a Mannlicher Shoenauer model 1905 in 9x56ms. Browning still chambers 358 win but it is in their lever action BLR a great rifle. Or there are Used Husqavarna bolts in 8mm mauser and the 9.3x 62. Take a look on gun broker to get an idea for what is available within your price range a specification preferences. Good luck in your quest.

I would got Blaser if I impulsively didn’t order Bighorn armory lever action.

Found distributor Kebco LLC, and already got response.

When I first started looking for a 375. I came across a Browning A bolt in a factory plastic stock that felt like about 6.5 pounds without a scope. Shoukd have bought it but was worried about the recoil.

What a Ruger African in 9.3x62? CRF, iron sights, ebony fore end tip. Not positive on weight but not very heavy.

The browning X-bolt does make for a nice lightweight .375 rifle complete with factory iron sights. I took a young bull moose here in Alberta several years ago with mine. Nice rifle for that hunt especially being in stainless steel which I do like in winter conditions. Recoil not too bad with the weight of the rings, 1.5-5x leupold , full mag and sling. Out of the box with no extras this light .375 is a hard kicker with full power factory loads. Even with my mildly loaded hornady 270gr interlocks it pushes pretty good…

I personally don’t like long barrels. If Ruger I’ll would get Alaskan 375 again.. But it would be required more done to it like cut and recrown barrel and change stock. That’s a 600+ to price getting to 2k territory, I want turn key rifle I don’t need to spend $ to make the way I want.

Browning looks interesting but would need chopp 2-3 inches and reinstall sights for my liking.
Do Browning have soldered or screw in sights?

I have one and to me is the perfect choice. Very accurate too.

I don't know what you mean by this. Are you trying to compare the Blaser R8 to a Bighorn Armory lever action?

I know nothing of Bighorn Armory lever actions except that they are going for around $2.5K and only chambered in pistol (albeit large caliber) cartridges. Why not send it back and use the money to fund a bolt action mid-bore?

No. I implied that if i didn’t spend 3.5k on Bighorn. I would definitely at this moment add 2k and got R8. And sad part that I’ll get my Bighorn next March do to production backlog
