Let's see some Zebra pics

I'm told some like a black and yellowish pelt/hide more than white and black.

I was really happy with this stallion because the white was snow white and I thought the contrast was spectacular.

What's your preference?

Yours looks great. Mine from last year had a lot of shadow stripes but I was just glad to get him for the leopard baits! Funny how they are around when you don't want one but if you NEED one, they disappear. I would like a really clean example sometime...particularly a Hartmann's. The Selous zebra in Moz is beautiful as well. I will also say if you haven't had zebra steak, you are missing out. Just trim that yellow fat first.

I've shot both Burchell and Mountain Zebras, and my answer is I like all of them. Each hide is unique, and that's what makes them interesting. Looking through the herds to find the one you like best is the fun part of hunting zebras.

In contrast to the original post, one of the darker zebras I have taken.

This one had really wide shadow stripes. The rug is probably one of my favorite taxidermy pieces. Like Chile I would like a really clean white mountain zebra too

If you like them large and without a shadow, a Namibian Hartmann's stallion is not only a magnificent animal, but also a challenging hunt.

Well I didn’t get a zebra so I can’t say what I like best. But my 10 year old daughter got one. It was her number one animal on our trip last year. A nice mare.

This July will be my first cape buff in S. Africa and zebra is on the planned agenda!!
While I'm going to be happy to put a rug or table cover in my reloading room, I'm primarily interested in zebra so I can EAT one. I've heard so much about how good they are. Some say better than Axis or Nilgai or Elk.

I'm in Texas, so if I like the taste of them as much as I hope that I will during this safari, in the future I'll focus my Africa trips for DG. I can drive about 1.5 hours West in Texas and take future zebras for filling the freezer.

I'm probably the oddball on this forum as I rarely keep trophies and am primarily a meat hunter.
However, for things like elk, cape buff, hippo, croc, and zebra, I'm hanging them up.

So the thread is timely and I'll enjoy looking at your pictures so I can sharpen my eye's ability to pick out a good one. Thanks to all for the pics.

I almost didn't hunt zebra but it was the most amazing hunt I've ever experienced. I don't know when or if I'll ever go back to Africa, but if I do and no matter how many times, I will always make time for a zebra hunt.

Many hunters refuse to hunt zebras during their first hunting trip because they compare them to horses. But once they have seen how wary this animal can be in the wild, many hunters change their mind.
I love hunting zebras and it is one of my favourite plains game with wildebeests and elands. I was extremely lucky to have hunted many of Burchell and Hartmann zebras. Once, I tried the Chapman in the Caprivi, but we failed to find the right stallion.
I would say I find the skin of the Hartmann more beautiful if I have to choose between both. But what I like with the Burchell is the huge difference of patterns.
