16 days and I leave for canada for my first bear hunt!!! I am very excited. Taking both bow and gun. Do first 3 days with bow if cant make it happen I will switch to gun. Will be hunting in Saskatchewan in a good color phase area.

Let us know how it went. Best of luck!

Good Luck.
The bears are starting to come out.
It is snowing right now but that should make for some green up in the next 2 weeks. Lots of buds and grass for the bears.

Safe travel and good luck for the hunt Deerslayer.

Hope you get a good-un', rememeber to take plenty of pics for the hunt report your going to share with us when you get back !

12 degrees celsius?

Yep it is a late spring this year. I travel around 350km per day in prime bear country and have only seen 2 sets of Grizzly track and no blackies yet. With the way the snow is melting and water running I am sure they are being flooded out of thier dens as we speak. Coming out 3-4 weeks late should make for some excellent hides with no rubs.

Good luck on your hunt SK has some great bear hunting.

Bring your sun tan lotion!

Today it was 22 degrees Monday it is supposed to be 18 in Laronge SK. by Wednesday it could be 22.
If you have not seen a lot of sun, yes you should have lotion on.
Maybe you'll be hiding in the trees in a T shirt.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
