Definitely the coolest of the little guys. One of my favorite African moments was with a female Klipy that kept charging away then sneaking back in to check us out over and over while we waited for Kudu on the side of a Koppie one evening, she got as close as 3 feet when she 1st came in before she noticed us! Very curious critters.

Here is a picture of an outstanding Klipspringer posted by Alex McDonald from McDonald Safaris. The caption reads: Klipspringer ~ Soutpansberg , RSA. If the results return as we expect them to, this beautiful Klipspringer will be the new World #3.

Congratulations!

Nice! Definitely on my short list.

A very respectable 5 2/8" klippie hunted last week enjoy hunting these extremely weary little antelope high up on foot, we probably passed on 20 + males to harvest this great ram on the last hour of the last day... :)

My best!

Beautiful photos.
All wild animals are interesting but, here is just something about the various pigmy antelopes that seems even more fascinating than their larger cousins.

Another exceptional ram measuring 5 7/8" in typical terrain (note amount of secondary growth...)
my best

these little rippers live in a den ?
bluey, They do, rock over hangs, small caves, as the one just below the Klippie in the picture above..

my best always

that's just making them ,even way cooler .
thanks mate .

Mine sure wasn't a giant, but I am tickled to death to have taken him!

And very interesting on the dens. Do they always den up Jaco?

Royal, it is a large contributor to my hunting technique, while hunting Kudu, zebra and other species that frequent rugged mountainous terrain either myself or Joe will identify dens, these are quite easy to see due to the trampled foliage and large amount of dung (almost midden like).

Dens can be a slight over hang (rock) or a shallow cave like structure (crevasse or proper small cave)

Once located I will often hit the opposite side of the valley (hopefully on a different day, as the Waterberg are only foot hills until you start climbing them :) ) as the sun reaches the above mentioned locations and glass these dens for potential quality rams.

I have found that glassing these dens in the afternoons are often ones best bet, for obvious reasons.

In my experience, pairs and family groups will Den, I am unsure as to solitary bucks but on the other hand solitary males are not a common sight (at least not in our area) klippie always tend to move in family/breeding pairs either ram and ewe or one or two younger animals included.

My best always

Damn, I learned something else today.
Thanks Jaco.

I love learning new stuff!!!

Never would have guessed this one, although when I think about it, it does make sense.

Thanks Jaco!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
