I’m A Liberal Who Loves Hunting. Allow Me To Change Your Mind

Beyond guns, the biggest difference between a conservative and a liberal across the board is bedside manner. A conservative does two things: 1.) Conserves liberty, 2.) Understands every system is complex and that it must be carefully analyzed before any changes are implemented. Liberals on the other hand: 1,) Are guided by feelings and envy, and 2.) Believe systems need to be fundamentally transformed and/or require revolution.

Since 90% of changes to systems typically backfire, you can imagine its why every well intentioned liberal idea has a tragic failure rate.

Apply all the above to guns, tax policy, military, entitlements, or any other topic.

Liberals suck at the analysis phase and immediately jump to the solution phase of every problem.
I am not sure I agree with your definition, but assuming it is accurate, do you think Trump is a conservative or a liberal?

I named my firstborn "Reagan" for a reason, not "Trump".
:ROFLMAO:

I got this from my aunt that came up during the depression.
Any time someone starts of with there politics before there actually life actions. ( ie I am a liberal that loves what ever)
Be very wary of that person and there actions

I was going to offer to let the author share the blind with me and try to and convince me, until I realize she must’ve used her English degree while asking AI to create the image of her hunting
Yes shooting grouse with a scoped rifle what next?

Um... that's a pretty popular thing up here in SW Alaska... Just sayin'...

A scoped 10-22 sees heavy use. I am guilty as well, though I prefer my Savage 24 for spruce grouse.

NRA also backed congressman Al Gore Jr. and Senator Harry Reid.
Although, Harry Reid was a retired Nevada LE officer and built a world class shooting range in his time. He was fairly pro 2nd Amendment until later in his career when the anti 2nd Amendment radicals got to him. He was probably the most pro 2nd Amendment Democrat in memory at the time.

I think you misunderstood what she used artistic license and AI on even more than grouse with a rifle

RIght Okay got the wrong end of the stick then. Just saw it was a Guardain peace and so thought it she had shot them in the UK as she talked about a French mother. Didnt think she may have been in America, I did not read the full article.

Just read it...okay so she's trying but that's about it. She believes that the reforms in Australia after the Port Arthur shooting has stopped mass shootings there and stooped people from committing suicide by firearm.

Well the suicide thing statistics say not, there just finding another way. As for the mass shootings 2016 2019 2022... she should really do more home work.

We use the model 24 for squirrel hunting. It’s a very handy firearm for small game anywhere.

There are people who support some Conservative policies and some Liberal policies. So it’s hardly surprising that more than a few American Liberals exist who support hunting, although most of them have a very flawed view of the Second Amendment (thinking that the Right To Bear Arms extends only towards hunting instead of being able to protest against a tyrannical government).

Me for instance: I largely support American conservative ideologies. I’m pro hunting, pro gun ownership, pro Israel, believe in only two genders, consider homosexuality to be nothing to be proud of (although I obviously don’t advocate for any sort of violence or discrimination against homosexuals) and believe that Christian values are an important backbone of America which should never be allowed to erode. At the same time, I’m sympathetic towards abortion (but only in cases where the woman was raped or delivering the child might bring any risk to the woman’s well being or safety). So what would that make me ?
In my opinion, it clearly makes you, “My Brother from Another Mother”.

Ronald Reagan said “we call someone we agree with 80% of the time a friend (conservative).”

I'm in a curious state, in that I have several "liberal" hunters as friends.

These guys are serious hunters, but they don't subscribe to any of my social or fiscal conservative values.

When it comes to issues such as:

Pro-gun
Pro-hunting
Anti-Sierra Club

They are 100% Conservative.

When it comes to:

Social Issues - 100% liberal
Public Access to all property - 100% liberal

And, surprisingly, I really like them, and they like me.

We just don't discuss politics or religion.

(I pray for them...)

When it comes time to vote, do they vote guns/hunting or social issues? I think that’s the heart of the matter.

When asked I say I am a progressive or Social Democrat. I am far left. I've carried a gun and made a living with guns for most of my life. I'm a former wildland firefighter, a Certified/Commissioned LEO, a big game guide in northern New Mexico. I carried my SKS brought back from VN on horseback out of hunting season, good coyote gun. I carried, period. I fish and have since childhood. I was jailed for speaking truth to the power by the nixon region and freed by the then Supreme Court. I was/am a member of VVAW and the Gainesville 8+4. I am a 100% service connected USMC SGT-Vietnam 1966/67. I have friends that are conservative, I don't argue religion or politics with them. I have no right wing friends. I retired and moved to Thailand where we are not allowed to own guns, pay no attention to the daily shootings. I vote. I damn sure wish I owned a gun here, especially my Polytech under folder AK, I'd sleep better at night.

If you don’t tolerate difference of opinion including liberal you’re not pro-American in my view.
He didn’t say he doesn’t tolerate it. He’s just pointing out the hypocrisy of voting for politicians that are anti gun and anti hunting while still claiming to be for those things.

Being intolerant of a different opinion is what we saw demonstrated yesterday. Presumably by a “liberal.”

You can have different opinions but that doesn’t mean others can’t point out those opinions are foolish.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
