Have you ever wanted to Hunt in Uganda, but you are a bit weary on who your PH will be, not too sure what to expect.
I actively Guide under Uganda wildlife safaris, we have the best areas at our finger tips.
contact me, we can do it and I will personally do the Guiding and all arrangements for your hunt.

Do you guide out of the camp near the Kidepo Airport, that's where I hunted out of. Last year at the SCI show Christian said they were tearing that airport building down to build a new one, wondering if that has happened yet.

There don't seem to be many interested parties. This is probably due to the prices of this hunts and certainly the main reason why many are hesitant to book a hunt in this country.

I hunted in Uganda more than 30 years ago, in the southern Karamoja region as well as in the southwest of the country, near lake George and Edward. As far as the landscapes are concerned, the latter in particular is not comparable to the well-known areas of southern Africa, but rather to areas of Tanzania.

Recently, an outfitter in Germany tried to put together a group of six hunters for hunting in northern Karamoja. The offer, including charter flights, was regarding the price more than attractive, but unfortunately, it was not possible to reach the required number of participants. There were only two of us. However, I remain interested in hunting buffalo in this area of Uganda.

Thank you for your participation, many people reach out privately as opposed to on the open forum.
The photos I posted are from within Kidepo park mainly, the terrain in the Karamoja concession is a bit more wooded.
You don't need be on a group top make this happen, as you do not need a charter to get to camp. We regularly drive.
Ill post a few more photos of the terrain in ate hunting area.

Uganda will be my next trip, but moose, grizzly and others got in the way this year, what plains game are available in this concession?

@grand veneur, I am not here to say this hunt is a cheap hunt, but when I was looking to take this hunt, I also checked out hunts in the Zambezi Delta area and Caprivi Strip, and the group hunt price for Uganda Wildlife Systems was as cheaper than those other 2 areas. Additionally, we had the opportunity to take a 2nd buffalo.

I cannot say I ever thought I'd do a group hunt where I would hunt 2x1, that just has no appeal, but for the 35% price savings of going by myself, I did do the group hunt, and boy, did that ever work out great. The guy I was paired with was on his very first African safari, it was wonderful to see him be so excited during his first hunt.

One thing to know is this is not the traditional Zimbabwe hunt where you go to a water point, or pick up tracks when driving around, then start following tracks. Here you drive till you spot a herd of buffalo, then you get off, walk to the herd, then decide if there is a shooter. Physically, this is as easy of a wild buffalo hunt as you can get. One day when we were driving around, we came upon this huge herd of buffalo crossing the far hillside, I asked my guide, 'do you think there are 500 buffalo there?', he replied, 'easily 1000'.

For anyone wanting to take this hunt, be sure to ask if they'll take you to the nearby national park to see some truly old giants and scrum caps. We did this one night, sat around and had sundowners while watching tons of buffalo everywhere.

@Philip Glass, my two buffalo were shot at 50 and 80 yards.

I am fine with a scoped rifle, that being said I'd rather use my double on a Nile buffalo.
Agreed. I was just looking at Ernest's pics and looked like some longer ranges there than say Zambezi valley.

I can easily do that with my double. Thanks!

When I researched this a while back one thing that was appealing was the hunting season, which is when the rain season is not there yet, seems to be around February. Perfect time not to conflict with the summer hunts in Southern Africa, Spring hunts in South America and Fall hunts elsewhere.

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
