Packing my personal gear for the season in Tanzania. 15 years as a Professional Hunter in remote areas has hammered home the fact that the right gear is essential for day to day operations as well as emergencies...yes, I am actually an Eagle Scout #beprepared !

Starting of the hunting season in Tanzania

Arrival to Kilimanjaro Tanzania or JRO. You can fly KLM, Turkish Air, Quatar or Emirates with your rifle. It's going to cost around 2,300 to 3,000 round trip. Our team on the ground handles all permits and ground transportation.

Starting of the hunting season in Tanzania Part 2

Our areas are remote...15 to 20 hours by car sometimes.

The preparation team is in the bush for over 2 months making roads and camps...the A-team is moving in!

Hunting starts in 1 week.

Day break in Tanzania at one of my many baits

Turn up the volume! Leopard in the tree, hippos to the right and lions everywhere else.

Hunting Cape Buffalo in Tanzania

Almost doubled up on Buffalo...shot a good bull, then this tank appeared. You never know what is behind the next bush out here in the wilderness. This safari ended up with 2 buffalo, 1 leopard, huge kudu, zebra, dikdik, oribi, eland, hyena and hartebeest...probably a few other things as well.

We have taken 5 trophy buffalo in the wilderness of Rungwa GR with 3 clients in the first week of our season.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
