Home made bullets

Shot my 458 Express shooting off hand at 50m open sights. Not my best grouping but not the bullets’ fault.

Will take shooting sticks to the range next time.

Just got these pics sent to me from a mate I made 9.3 285gr bullets for.

He just came back from a hunt and got a very nice Waterbuck bull.

9.3x62 @ 2280 fps.

Shot the bull from the front into the chest from 120m and found the bullet in the stomach.

I'd say you were doing darn fine work. Congrats on a work around for the current bullet shortages. I like it!

I tested the 416RM this weekend with a new and improved bullet design I made; shooting them into wetpacks.

Changed the Ogive and in doing so adding a bit more copper to the nose section.

400gr at 2300 fps.

L-R 100m, 75m, 50m, 25m

Looking really good I'm going to load some more of the 458, 500gr bullets to test it next week again to see if I can get more speed out of them as the driving bands really reduces the pressure on that long bullet.

Want to get 2200fps around there I'm close but not there yet in the Lott.

Well what a surprize I got today I have a load that I use for practise and competitions its a 500gr Impala bullet Mono solid with driving bands. It goes 2220fps with 82gr of Norma203B and accurate.
Last time trying the 500gr bullets speed was very low due to the driving bands to day I started at 81gr then 81.5gr and finally at 82gr of Norma 203B I got the exact same point of impact thatn the solids and quess what same speed with the same load.

If only reloading could always be so easy, very chuffed one load two bullets a soft and solid and they print 100% same at 50 meters. (y)

Got these pics today from a mate that hunted a giraffe this morning.

My home made bullets

.375 300gr and .458 450gr

375 @ 2500 fps
458 @ 2200 fps

Some in 35 cal 250gr or 225gn would be exceptional. MV of 2,700 to 2,900fps would fun.
Great bullet performance on your projectiles.

Hi Bob

For now I’m focusing on 9.3 and bigger and most important caliber that I own.

I don’t think the .35 has a big following in SA but definitely something to look at once I start making more commercially.

There's a lot of 35 cal lovers on this site that I'm sure would love to give them a try.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike
