Just joined a week or so ago. Was at a Ducks Unlimited dinner and thought I’d get the ball rolling on some of the silent auctions. My plan backfired but in a beautiful way! I won the Kuche Safaris hunt, my first-ever safari, and I’ll be headed to South Africa with my son, my brother-in-law, and my hunting partner of 40 years in mid-June of 2027

All that noted, over the years I’ve read and re-read Ruark’s Horn of the Hunter, Hemingway’s The Green Hills of Africa, and Roosevelt’s African Game Trails, along with catching countless podcasts and shows from Boddington, von Benedict, and Spomer.

Looking forward to being part of AfricanHunting.com and getting advice as I iron out the details planning the trip for our group.

Bill

:S Welcome:
Congrats on your “win”. Take some time and research Kuche Safaris to help manage your expectations and priorities

Welcome, what part of the valley are you in?
My father is from Waynesboro and my mother is from New Market.

I used to spend a lot of time up there when my grandparents were still alive. Fishing and jump shooting ducks on the rivers.

What @Mekaniks said is good advice.
Get ready for A LOT of bilge concerning KUCHE, both good and bad.

Good day! Welcome to AH!

@wdm4443 im located over in Culpeper not to far from you probably hour and a half or so! Africa is a beautiful place that will have you planning your next trip before you ever leave. Biggest thing I can say is do your research on the outfitter before you fully commit! If it checks your boxes enjoy the ride

Hi, and thanks; we're in Fort Valley - in the George Washington National Forest

My favorite diner is Southern Kitchen in New Market!
We have some friends with a farm in Fort Valley and have turkey hunted there for years. Love hitting the Country Store for sandwiches! I live in NOVA about 1.5 hours away.

Welcome to AH. Take your time and do the research. Find the animals you are really interested in and don’t forget to smell the roses along the way. It’s easy to get blinded by the hunting, but there’s a lot more to experience.

That is a lovely area for certain. I grew up in Marshall and Delaplane. Not too far away.

Welcome!

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
