Yes, Heaven can wait!

When we have M98 actions this nice to work with. Pulled both out of the vault today to test on the Wilson Rockwell Hardness Tester. Forgot just how nice they are! No silly bubba drilling and tapping or grinding on the rear bridges.

The one on the right is barreled with the 400 H&H Krieger barrel. Action on the left still has the original 8x57 barrel. May use this one for a future 465 H&H build. The silly bolt handle has to go.

Regardless, both rifles will be iron sights only. This is why I do not want any darn extra holes in the receivers!

Both actions have a very unusual feature that I have not found on M98's in the past. Can anyone guess?

What's the feature that most don't have?

The "42" is a manufacturer code, early Oberndorf. I would love to have those 2 actions at my disposal.

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
