Headed out to Tholo, First safari!

Another virgin to Africa? Don’t go! You’ll never want to come home!
Just kidding! You’re going to have a grand adventure! Nothing to be nervous about if you practiced, practiced, practiced off sticks!
Any particular trophies you’re looking for?
Gemsbok, kudu, eland, impala, and wildebeest

Hell, I’ve already a booked a 17 day hunt in RSA next year and a couple more days in Mauritius after that. I’m pretty sure I may have found a sport to stick with. Buff in 2024 is the plan....

Good luck, shoot straight and enjoy. You only have one first Safari.

Good luck. Stay safe.

Going home and sitting in a tree stand waiting for white tail deer will never be the same after going to Africa lol

Shoot straight and be safe. Above all, enjoy !

Sitting in the airport in J’berg. I’m tired amid flying. Plus the only available seats for flight to Maun are economy. Ugh. At least it is less than 2 hours if all goes well.

Funny story at airport: guy with “G & D Slaven” on sign to meet us (the initials of my dad and me). We go with him and start chatting and we are headed out of the airport and I asked about our rifles. He said he had no idea we had rifles. I was a bit confused so I said since he was riflepermits I assumed he knew we had rifles. He said he wasn’t with rifle permits. So we head towards SAPS with him to meet riflepemits unloading a couple suitcases off of the cart and they look confused. Apparently there was a D and G Slaven on our flight from Houston with us. What are the odds???

Aim small miss small! Looking forward to a report on you'r adventure!!!

You are going to have a great trip. Tholo has a fantastic reputation and you will not be disappointed. Good luck and look forward to seeing the final report.

Good luck!!

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
