Have to Cancel Our Africa Hunt-Vacation

I’ll keep you in my thoughts for a quick recovery. You did exactly what I would have done as well. Ones health is the most critical part of life to make everything else come true.
Wishing you the best!

Sorry for the disappointment. Everything happens for a reason. Get well soon.

Sorry to hear the news, but glad you are in a good head space.
Keep up the good fight and let us know how it's going.

Well at least you have some serious motivation to stay on track to get healthy. Get well and get to AFRICA. Good luck.

Better late than never! I know how disappointed you must be.

Good luck on your health problem but it gives you more time to day dream of the hunt before you. Get well

Get well soon.
The wait will make it even more enjoyable when you go.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
I would be devastated having to wait.
I haven't yet gone on my first safari and the seed of a second are already growing

Don't look at this as a setback., rather think of it as an opportunity to save up a little more money so that you can take some additional animals when you do go. Doing this will keep things in a positive light.
I agree with you Shootist43.
Keep solid mate we are given setbacks for a reason. It may be harder to understand now. Better to go when healthy and enjoy than to get sick part way thru your hunt.
Stay positive mate you will get there
Cheers and keep well
Bob Nelson

Hope you get well soon!

I had to put off my first safari off for over a year back in 2016, rescheduled for and went in 2017, had a hip replacement.

That whole extra year, (we'll after a month spent getting everything coordinated), I spent planning for what extra animals I could hunt, and what I wanted to hunt should I be able to go again.

Kinda therapeutic: a sorta recess for the mind and body. When you start thinking about something you really want to do, you stop thinking about what your mind and body is currently stressing over.

You may even find a way to spend some extra time in Africa.

My wife and I are supposed to be leaving for Africa next month, a trip we’ve been planning for a year. Have been having a health issue lately and went in for an exploratory procedure yesterday to see what’s going on. While the results were much better than they could have been, they still came back to a degree that our trip is going to have to be canceled. We are both really disappointed, to say the least. Good news is the condition is manageable once I get some things in check and British Airways is going to let us hold the tickets for a year until we are able to reschedule. We will be going to Africa, but looks like it’s going to take a bit longer to get there....

Sorry to hear about your health issues but better to find out now than halfway through the hunt.
I wish you a speedy recovery and a successful hunt when you get to it.
It's good that the airline allowed you to reuse your tickets.
Speedy recovery mate

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
