Greetings! I've lurked a long time here but formally joined and set up a profile this morning. You all were instrumental in helping me think through my safari and taxidermy planning for my recent hunt in South Africa. Blessed to be able to hunt with my 3 kids. It was truly life changing as we experienced Cape Town, a photo safari on the Eastern Cape, and then a plains game hunt. I am thankful for this community and the collective experience it holds! -D

Glad to see some Southern California folks, my sister lives in Toluca Lake , and when I visit there I am always treated like a man from outer space!

I grew up in the Midwest so I understand the "outer space' comment! There are more hunters, shooters, outdoorsmen, and conservationists out here in CA than one would think. We just dont always talk about it at cocktail parties!

Thanks @Ridge Runner . I had the good fortune of hunting with my 3 kids. 2 trucks, 2 PHs between the 4 of us. Went in different directions most days. Living in CA, not a lot of my friends hunt so I realized I needed to create built-in hunting buddies through my kids. Blessed they are so into it. We mainly hit coyotes, dove, pheasant, small game together out here. I'm working on the Trip Report. Thanks for such a great welcome!
