Listing this rifle for my father. I have handled it and fired it so feel comfortable doing so.
At his age and current health the days of traveling are done and this rifles intended purpose will not be fulfilled so he is looking to move it.

It's built on a Husqvarna barreled action. Has gorgeous wood and detailing throughout. Skeleton grip cap, stainless dropplate with engraving. Checkering is amazing and has inletted swivel studs.Jewelled bolt and Timney trigger installed. Has some fingernail marks, safe marks but minor at best.

Specs:7.75lbs, 24" barrel, 13.75" LOP

Will go with the engraved rings and bases. As well as the picture album of the build progression on the rifle.

To be honest not sure what is a fair asking price but would assume $2000 shipped is a fair assessment. If someone is seriously interested please PM your thoughts and can go from there.

Will ship in hard case via UPS ground to buyers FFL located in the lower US (except California).

Beautiful piece of timber on that rifle.
Someone is going to be very happy with this.

That is a very fair price. Personally I think you should talk your dad out of it and keep it in the family. I’ll bet he’s got 5 grand plus in that build.

I’d double the asking price.

i would not sell it as its a familey rifle with history, oh how i wish i had my late fathers firearms. but they were pissed away by another familey member, i never did have much use for him even too this day.

Appreciate the kind words folks and can't say for sure why he wants to let it go but I think it's probably a reminder to him of a hunt that won't happen.
I do know that any firearms in his collection of 100+ that carry memories of a hunt or the sorts will never be sold.

Beautiful rifle! Like others have said, that beauty should stay in your family. Try to talk to him and maybe you buy it from him, if that makes him feel better. Good luck!

Wow - That's a real beauty! If I really needed another 270 I would jump all over that. Would be nice to give a mate to my Husky 243 though....

I have a friend who loves Husqvarna builds. Where is this rifle located?

This rifle arrived at my FFL today and it is sold. With any luck, the rifle is slated for a trip to Romania and then will be gifted to a young man who had the intestinal fortitude to marry a young woman who already has two children and will take them in as his own. My grandchildren.

Thanks Nathan

Congrats on a beautiful rifle Randy. It will definitely become a family heirloom. Well done sir.

Beautiful rifle! Have fun on the hunt!

Another update:
I brought the rifle home last night and showed it to my wife. Shannon immediately fell in love with it and told me she wanted it. After I told her it was for our new son in law, she told me he would never know. She offered to buy it from me but I knew she couldn't afford it. I was hoping to drive her away as she is welcome to use any rifle in my safe, save one, my own .270. She then offered to make payments and actually had tears going. After some more negotiating, I sold it to her for half what I bought it for. I know... I'm mean to make her pay... But hey I have sick habits to feed and now have to find an equally nice rifle for the new son in law.

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
