Good afternoon. Worked a deal with a good shop that took in some rifles from an estate sale. This rifle was to nice to leave behind. It has great english walnut stock with the high gloss bluing. Action is smooth and the rifle looks like it wasn't ever fired. As you all know I HATE Muzzle breaks. Well who ever had this had to be recoil shy as it is magna-ported and has a break. But I figured that someone on AH would like a nice rifle that fits their need. Asking $850 shipped to your FFL.

That is one handsome rifle!

Beautiful rifle Dave. Too bad it's magna-ported or I might be sending you a PM.

Beautiful rifle! What a shame it was molested! The magna-port just adds insult to injury! If it was just the brake a guy could cut and recrown but by the time you cut all of it out you would have a T/C super 16 barrel left. Lol
Some guys like the brakes though and this would be a dandy!

Shame on somebody!

Thats a great price on a beautiful rifle..

Like others, I dont have any use for the brake.. but.. honestly, if I didnt already have a .375 H&H that I was really happy with, I'd be all over this like stink on a baboons butt..

I'd cut the brake off, re-crown, and live with the magna-porting...

Have an XTR M70 .300 HH that was already Magna-porter. I left it as is, since it's not very loud and is one of the most accurate rifles I have.

Nice looking wood! Good luck

That is nice wood Dave!

Yah, brakes! Hate them. I had a model 2000 in 7x64 for a while, but not for long. BTW, they are made for Mauser by Heym.

Hello all!

Please excuse my ignorance on this topic, but this is the first time I've ever seen a Magna-Ported rifle. Would that, plus the brake, really cut down a ton on the recoil? I ask because my wife is about 4'10 and weighs in, sopping wet, at 80lbs so if big game is ever in her future I might want to show this to her depending on what you all say. Thanks for the info in advance!

Yes, the magna-port takes out a large amount of muzzle rise and depending on the efficiency of the brake should cut recoil by at least 1/2, sometimes more sometimes less depending. It would definitely be manageable by a small woman I’d think. My oldest son was shooting a 375 H&H at about 80 pounds off sticks. Maybe you could get a composite stock or Boyd stock to cut down to fit her rather than further molesting this beautiful rifle. Keep the nice lumber to put back on after the hunt and maintain some of the value that way.
Cheers,
Cody

That's some nice wood and a good price. The muzzle brake is not so bad, that can be replace with a can. But the Magna-Port is a deal breaker for most, and I hate recoil. But @Eventually_Africa its would be a great gun for your wife. Just make sure you buy good hearing protection.

So I showed this to my wife, she looked at it then reminded me that she just bought a Mauser M12 in 6.5 Swede and she doesn't want to invest in another rifle. Ah well, I tried, it does look great.

That my friend is why you don’t ask them! If I asked every time I bought a gun I would have exactly 4 guns a 22, a centerfire rifle, a shotgun and one pistol. Women can’t rationalize a room full of guns, not in their DNA, much like we can not rationalize a room full of shoes. They say you only have two hands, I say you only have two feet. They say you can only do one hunt at a time, I say you can only walk one direction at a time. Never ending, well until you get divorced, then nobody tries to rationalize gun purchases.

How long is the barrel to the point where the brake is attached?

I have 3 pistols with magna-porting; they came that way: 2 44 mags and a 475 Linebaugh. I appreciate the porting in the 475. Holds the barrel down for the next shot. 44s are ok, as in not that much louder than my non-ported pistol. I did have a 480 Ruger Redhawk magna-ported and a Pachmyer Tamer grip put on. That allowed me to shoot 400gr rounds without regret. The 325s shot ok as is. I am selling the Redhawk to replace it with the new 480 Blackhawk. I do like that round!

It is 25 inches to the start of the Brake, and 27 inches to the end of the brake.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
