I will be heading out on Sunday to bow hunt with Ekuja Safaris. This will be my first trip to Africa; I have been advised to have taxidermy done in Windhoek at Nyati Wildlife Art. Anyone had any animals done here? Would love to see some pics or hear of anyone’s recent experiences.

I have used them twice and the work is very good. The facility in Windhoek is modern, clean and well organized.
Marike is the office manager and she's very thorough and efficient. I plan on using them again in a few months if I can connect with a buff.
My advice to you is ask to visit the facility, in Windhoek, on the way to the airport if possible. This will insure no confusion regarding what you want done. It's possible to view a large variety of mounts in real life, giving you perspective on the final look and size of African mounts. At that time you can also pay the deposit with credit card and review the invoice totals before leaving the country.
Open a WhattsApp account before you go and share the number with Marike in the office, this makes communication in voice and text effortless.

The only critical comment I have regarding Nyati Taxidermy is that they use cardboard,(heavy), for the shipping crates. In my experience using four different taxidermy company's, Nyati is the only outfit not using wooden shipping crates.

@TexasBowhunter 1st enjoy your time with Ekuja, Drikus as a great outfitter and PH. We used Nyati Wildlife Art. for our dip and pack from our 2021 safari. We toured their facility was impress at how well it was run. Have a great trip

Thank you all for the feedback. I had an exceptional experience with Ekuja Safaris and could not be more impressed with Drikus’ camp. I had a very successful 4 days of bow hunting. I was able to take Eland, Waterbuck, Red Hartebeest, and Warthog. Now the long wait to get the mounts back!

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
