Finding a rifles history question

I just bought a vintage Rigby 275. I am told by Willoughby & McCabe Agents it was built in 1920 but has a new barrel proof saying 2010 with a perfect bore

my question is can I contact Rigby to find out who bought the gun the first time? If so what else could they tell me? Do I just send them an email given I am in US and they are in UK?

They should be able to tell you who ordered the rifle and who took delivery, sometimes it is different. If they were the ones who re-barreld the rifle they should be able to include that info. There is a fee.

Send them an email with the serial number, and ask if they can let you know history....the ledgers are very interesting...been fortunate enough to check through some of the pages...and back in 1920s 30s there were a few 275 built for women...and 350s and think saw one 416 for a lady..but can't be 100% on that as was a while ago
