CZ 550 mag and Timmy Trigger

just installed a Timmy Trigger on my CZ550 mag but just discovered that you can't install the trigger guard unless you install the stock and trigger guard at the same time. I mean you cannot install the trigger guard with the stock installed on the barreled action because the trigger hits the guard. it appears that I will have to elongate the hole in the trigger guard to clear the trigger. the trigger sits further back than the stock trigger. anyone have advise on this

I have Timney triggers on both my CZ-550's (one American in .30-06 and one Safari Magnum in .416 Rigby). You are right in that the rearward arc of the Timney trigger is further aft than the factory trigger. It requires a little fiddling and holding your mouth just right to get the action, trigger, and bottom metal to line up just right for reassembly, but neither of my rifles required modification. Once you've done it a few times it becomes a non-factor.

The third screw on the forward recoil lug of the .416 on the other hand... that is a real pain to get lined up every time.

that 3 rd screw I just got it lined up and added a little bit of silicon and it says put. I was thinking about grinding that shallow portion on the rear of the trigger guard so the trigger guard an be removed without taking the trigger guard and stock off at the same time that's a pain

just dropped it off at the gunsmith yesterday and he is going to put the floorplate in his milling machine and cut away enough material to remove the floorplate without having to fiddle around with the barreled action, stock and floorplate at the same time make it nicer, did notice that the new Timmy trigger after shooting 5 heavy loads developed a little creep in the trigger so he will take care of it, sure is nice to shoot it without my second finger taking a beating on the trigger guard from being pushed up tight to get a good trigger finger hold
