Thinking I may need to hunt the Republic of Congo for Dwarf Buffalo, Red River Hogs and lord knows what else. Does anyone have any outfitters they would recommend?

As awesome as that sounds, I am allergic to "Machete Fever" and have watched too many movies.... A dwarf buff and a red river hog though....wow.

I hunted bongo and forest Sitatunga with Congo Forest safaris. I have 2 reports on here about my hunts. Someone else might be better for the hogs. I only saw them one time in my 28 days of hunting there.

I could be mistaken but I believe Congo Forest Safaris is the only outfitter operating in the Congo. That I’m aware of, they’ve taken 3 Dwarf Forest Buffalo this year. @Rem280 I tried to privately message you but don’t see that option for you. We need to talk.

I also look for an opportunity to hunt Dwarf buffalo in the Congo for quite some time.

The problem seems to be that during a Bongo hunt, the success rate for Dwarf buffalo is less than 10%. That is why a Dwarf buffalo hunt needs to be conducted in other parts of the Congo to have a decent chance of bagging one. Congo Forest Safaris appears to be the only operator in the north of the country. However, I don't yet know if they have access to other areas as well. That said, there do seem to be other operators, at least one, for specific Dwarf buffalo hunting in Congo-Brazzaville.

The hunting area under consideration is not in Central Africa and fires occur frequently in the African bush, it’s a perfectly normal occurrence. Besides, I am no novice when it comes to hunting in Africa, and I was in touch with a local outfitter.
