CANADA: Moose Down

That´s a great story !

Reminds me of when I went hunting mouflon with my eldest daughter and we got home just before 12 PM on the 31st of December :ROFLMAO:

Congratulations. Great story.

Chris, you know that all of the Dads on AH shared that sense of pride you had with your daughter's success. Passing down the tradition is without a doubt, the most important thing we have to do. Did she take the moose with her rifle, or did the rifle become hers after she took the moose?
I got the gun for my son when he turned 10, they shared it for awhile now it's her's, I tried to get another gun for her but she would have nothing to do with it. It is a 7mm-08 both kids have got moose with it.

Great Story

The 7mm -08 is a great caliber for youngsters and or smaller framed adults. I've never hunted moose, but their sheer size would seem to indicate something larger. With your kids having put two or more into the freezer it obviously is up to the task. Is that a muzzle break on the end of the barrel or just a flash-hider?

Great hunt, love to see young people hunting. Thanks for sharing the hunt and the great photos!!

Moose are wimps, she put both shots in the heart. It is a little light for elk, my son has two goats with it and they have three bears between them. Yes it is a muzzle brake for recoil but my daughter is ready for it to come off. She is slight of frame but tall and stature at 5'11"

Stupendous!
Congratulations to your daughter.

That will be a very tasty Moose.

Thanks for sharing your hunt. That is beautiful country you have the pleasure of hunting in.

I really like it when hunters daughters take up the torch. Congratulations to her on the moose, and to you for raising her right.

What Province are you hunting? It looks like a beautiful place.

Congrats to you and your daughter! Our annual moose hunt was always the highlight of my year from the age of 15-40. Haven't been able to go as often in the last 8 years, so love to see some great pics like you posted!

I hear you on the trailer hub...we lost ours on the boat trailer on the way home from our northern Sask fishing trip. Luckily we were close to civilization, but Jeez, what a pain in the butt!

Congrats!

Northern British Columbia, we live at mile 300 Alaska highway.

I lived in Fort Nelson for 15 years, good place to raise kids

Great hunt! I am very happy for you and your daughter! the scenery up there looks breaktaking as well! win-win-win!!(y)

I killed one in Ontario a few years back. The scenery was nowhere near as nice as where you're at. I'll have to look into a hunt up that way. Congrats

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
