Friends,
I‘m always dreaming from Africa like you and I can‘t help doing it.
To stay in a camp, where at night you hear the lions roar and elephants are making barricades on your forest ways.
This is the aera I'm dreaming from.
I was in June this year at Save River, Zimbabwe,on the border to Mozambik and had a fabulous time.
Buffalos over buffalos and the old bulls, nevertheless not easy to get, like over all in Africa .
Exeptional some happy moments.
I’ve let go some strong bulls, because I did not want to bring myself in the first days arround the stalk with her 1.000 adventures (the last sentence is a google translation. Puhh, I would never come at these wording.Hope it's right,it's necessary to see my English sporty,it is and remains a foreign language ).
This is for myself more important than the shot.
And this was the first property that I felt, I can choose between several buffalos in the wilderness.
But hunting has also to do with „ to get“ and so I wished to bring it to an end at day 6 (from 7).
Because my lick strand of the stalks and buff seeings seemd to tear.
At home we say „arrogance comes befor him fall“.
And so it was-almost.
My double rifle I let at home and took my Brünner .375 with a good Swarowski scope and was very happy with this combiantion again.

Destination was that year Harare and there I ve been picked up from my wellknown (black ) PH and friend and we had to do a long ride by car going south at the border to Mozambik.
The formalities proceeded everybody all without problems.
But this time I had to check out and in in Joburg.
The girls from SAA in Munic noticed the weapon embargo and so I must go out in RSA and it was not allowed for me to stay in the transit aera.
I prefer everybody who lands with a gun in Joburg, to take a guide (they are waiting for us :) at the bulky luggage store) for 50.- $ (much to much my friends shouted me) and bring you about the hurdles of the gun- permit in South Africa.
The customs was very friendly ,but it needs time and when your connecting flight sits in your neck, think of me,you begin always to perspire.
Administration is much more popular there, than at home .
Here, the „father of all Daggaboys“ .
I get him with my .375H+H (Hornady solid bullet,use it beneth DGX ( Caustin !! :) ).
No 40 meters after the shot ,he droped in the sand of the thurstlands of Zimbabwe.
Rest of the story is following

That's just super Foxi, really glad for you.

The best drug to have in life...well almost...

Foxi, can see he's an old bull, worn down hooks, but hard to see with mud, how old was the bull?

It was a good discussion at the camp.
I guessed him 15 ,16,17 years
For this age speaks ,that his molars was very, very flat.
I ve never seen anything like that.
But my PH doesn't agree with me,he said aginst it speaks, that he was in a good shape and a heavy body with lot of meat on .
And now ?
Could it be, that an egg is more clever (me),than the hen(myPH) ?
I dont think so.
An old worrior in every case.

Good stuff, congrats on the buff!

Perhaps he was chewing a lot of sand in his dinners.

With horns that worn down he is an older bull for sure.

Very nice trophy. Congratulations on your hunt.
I appreciate your sharing your story with us.

Great old bull. Well deserved trophy. Congratulations.(y)

Were you in the Save Conservancy or on the river across from the Gonarezhou?

$50 for a rifle clearing company. Good price. Do they sprechn sie Englisch?

@Foxi I am very happy for you. You took a wonderful old bull. You should be very proud of him!
I am also gratified to hear that your Hornady ammunition got the job done without problems.
So am I to understand that the kill shot was with a DGS?

Hey Caustin ,old africanfighter and the other gentlemen.
Thank you, reading my report.
Normally I load one soft, one solid.
Its now the third bull I shot with Hornady DGX/ DGS bullets .
I have absolute no reason to change.
Wheels: our camp was in the conservancy near Chiredzi.
Save River was exactly one of the borderlines.
Brick: I ve seen the jaws from roebucks, which was living in a sand area .
The molars are more grind down, than in other properties. You right.
To stupid, that I didn't photograph the jaw of the bull.
It could be interesting for the dentists among you .

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
