Thinking about to get a shoulder mount made of my buffalo.
How much do a shoulder mount and a wall pedestal mount get out from the wall?
Is there any difference?
Don't have so much room and will go for the one that takes upp the least place.

I think they are both big mounts just because of the size of the animal. My shoulder mount sticks out almost four feet.

Have you considered a floor pedestal?

I prefer wall pedestal. Not much difference spacewise

No.
I have my Africa trophies i our tv room and there is no place there.
Not so much anyway. if I should have it in my trophy room upstairs i would be
perfect with a floor pedestal because we don't have full roof height and four door in that room.

With a pedestal mount you take up floor space and then the size of the animal, but wall mount you only take up the size of the animal space against a wall...

Maybe I can get the taxidermist to make the mount shorter by
just take the head and neck?
Or does that look strange?

No.

If that is the case i would go for the Pedestal

Take to much of the body away and I think they start to look odd. At that point just a skull mount would look better I think.

A true wall pedestal should be slightly less wall profile into the room but likely not much more than 12 inches total

My elk and kudu both stick out from the wall 41 inches. They have somewhat of a sneak look because the horns are so long. I think if I get a buff may have him shoulder mounted but more a upright position. I would hope to keep him under 48 in from wall or my have to go with a euro mount. Could put him above the bed a friend has an elephant over his bed.

Wall ped will be under 48 your reg shoulder will be under 48 also

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
