I'm very interested in these rifles and I'm curious if there is anyone near me in the West KY or Nashville area that might have one that I could see in person. I live close to Paducah KY so anywhere within a couple hours of there. Seems like a reasonable drive to lay hands on one before investing that kind of money. I am currently combing through the threads on here about them. I will say I own an Accuracy international switch barrel and I swore there was no way they could be as good as everybody said they were until I bought one and now I am a firm believer. I am now curious if these are equally as excellent as the AI in thier respective realm.

If you go on Blaser USA website, they list all their dealers really clearly on map. After much resistance, all the posts and threads about them have finally started to sink in for me. I will be going to dealer when I get home next week.

It is indeed. I am going to Africa for the first time in June of 2022 if I can find a PH. I was booked with Phillip Smythe. I'm working on finding a new place to go and see what happens with my deposit. I was really into the whole super traditional thing but man the R8 just makes sense not to mention I can use it for any hunting here in the states with a switch of the barrel. It seems like the hunting version on the AI. I'm just very curious what kind of accuracy one can expect from it. I'm also a long range hunter if the situation calls for it which means I need a rifle capable of producing .5 moa type accuracy.

My .375, .300 Win Mag, .257 Wby, and 6.5x55 barrels are all sub-MOA. I am blessed to have a number of very fine rifles. But if the shot absolutely has to be in the exactly correct spot, I'll choose my R8. I should add, the R8 is a meaningful product improvement over the R93.

I am very interested to try one. I am absolutely amazed at the accuracy capabilities of my accuracy international. It will shoot any load I feed it very well and is absolutely insane with loads that it really likes. Which is a big thing for me, in my opinion an "accurate rifle" should not be accurate with just one special hand tailored load. Being a "tactical" kind of guy from my previous line of employment I am most interested in the speed of the action with the R8. If I'm hunting dangerous game then to me the name of the game is being able to put well aimed shots on target as fast as possible. If the R8 is capable of that kind of accuracy and that kind of speed and and the ability to run different calibers on one platform with the same trigger and same ergonomics it seems like it would be the way to go. Someone told me long ago the same thing about the AI rifles and I fought it for a long time and wasted a lot.of.money on a lot of.rifles and I would have been better of to just spend the money on the AI and be done with it.

Several things make it unique. The fast second shot is certainly one - not just action speed, but the straight pull means the rifle is far easier to keep on target during the reload cycle. However, for me the more important selling points are international transportability including take down and reassembly with total reliability in return to zero; ergonomics; compactness - the telescoping bolt and placement of the trigger guard means a standard length barrel in a far more compact package; and multi-caliber versatility on a mixed bag safari. It also has the best production rifle trigger that I have ever used, and the cocking lever means that your PH is far happier with some stranger trailing along behind him. Hope you get to fondle one.

Do not forget that the very best production trigger can even be improved a lot by using the Bixn Andy version! With a simple button-switch you can go from 700 gram, for hunting, to 250 gram, for target shooting.

R93 is not in production anymore. Prices of this model and components have sored here in Europe!
Actually I use this model for hunting and the R8 for target shooting.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
