Best two or three barrel takedown for Africa hunting

...
Tra3, the pelican comes with 3 layers of foam . I replaced the middle layer with a piece of high density I got on eBay. Cut it with very sharp knife. And finished edges with a torch.
7mm barrel threaded for silencer .
My Pelican came with no foam and I bought the eBay foam and cut it with a ceramic foam knife. Kinda did a hack job, but it worked.

For this coming year I am getting a hot foam cutter to do my setup.

Sorry brother I have to disagree a little here. The 243 loaded with 80gr Barness TTSX is a better killer then a 270 Win loaded with 130gr Cup and core bullets ….
@Rell
To me that's like saying the 270 loaded with a 130gn Barnes is a better killer than a 300wm loaded with cup and core.
Just don't compute.
The 243 with an 80gn anything will run out of steam long before the 270.
The 130gn accubond is a cup and core and I would take that any day for medium to large game over the 243.
Cup and core come in standard and bonded so I think your argument is mute after 200 yards.

Bob,

A bonded bullet is not what I meant by cup and core sir. A 243 with 80gr TTSX is a better killer then a 270 with an old Remington Core lokt….

I wouldn't take a zebra on with a 243 no matter what it was loaded with. The 270 even with a 130gn corelockt yes I would. I have shot sambar with a 270 using 130gn Hornady Interlock with out issues, they clock in at 220kg plus. No way would I use the 243 even with the 85gr Barnes for the same shot. Angling away.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
