Bat Houses?

Well, I've been told my Belfry is already full...

We have huge numbers of bats here! Durring the summer they will swarm our little outdoor parties, eating the mothes drawn to the light. They are fun to watch and make interesting sounds. We will see dozens over the course of the night and they will come within a few feet of people.

despite how brazen and abundant they are here, ive never heard of someone being bit.

The evolution of my favorite bat. It looks like it's starting to loop around to the beginning...

My brother was removing the air conditioners from his churches office windows and there was a bat hanging under on of them that he inadvertently grabbed. It bit him but being the gentle soul he is he picked it up in a dust pan and turned it loose. No good deed goes unpunished so when he went to his doctor you guessed it he had to have rabies shots. As if that wasn’t bad enough he was floored when he got the bill. 7 shots cost $32,000.00. After insurance he had to pay $3,200.00 out of pocket. Sometimes it just doesn’t pay. Life lesson, if an animal bites you, kill it or cage it until it can be sorted out whether the critter carries rabies or not.

Crazy prices. I have the rabies vaccine, was about 250 euros. Then I only have to have two injections instead of 4 and no need for the serum if bitten. The serum's availability in a lot of countries is the problem.

But 32000 dollars, that is just a rip off.

USA has the best health care in the world if you can afford it.

We have millions and millions of bats in our area of Texas , had some get into the attic
So the guy who removed them, set up bat boxes as a alternative place to roost
Love the bats just not in the house

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
