Argentine trophy hunter killed by elephant in Namibia

Condolences to the loved ones.

Prayers and Condolences to the family, but as it has been well stated here - better to go while in the field pursuing your passion.

Prayers for his family!

OK, we have just establshed that you are quite a bit smarter than me... (n)
Nah..I'm just getting to old and slow to be chased by angry elephants. I would rather be chased by the fat girls.

Sad news, RIP.

I would rather die with my boots off, in bed, with a beautiful woman, giving me a heart attack.

This would be my preferred option unfortunately this is not likely to be the case. Yes I would rather go doing something I like and dangerous but yet again this is not liable to be the case.

Condolences to the hunters family and friends.

Its anything to do with that sad situation, but thats why I practice to shoot running target with my 375. I hope that in the furure I have opportunity to hunt elephant and when I go to hunt I want that my gun is part of me.

Very sad news!

Sad news, you can't out run an elephant. You have to stand your ground and decide at what distance you feel your safety zone has been broken and shoot.

Exactly. I knew that such a thing could happen on my own elephant hunt. Just in case I had explained to my son that the PHs were in charge but in the event of a charging elephant you couldn't run and that you may have to shoot. A couple of times elephants came in our direction and we backed up. But once Pieter stood his ground raised his rifle well above his head and yelled at the beast as did everyone else. Thankfully jumbo turned around.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
