Any Interest in a Double Rifle/Big Bore Shoot in the Atlanta Area

ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Would also love to catch a drink or two after to connect!!!!!

My daughter lives in Stone Mountain. It would be a good excuse to go visit!

Atlanta and Alabama AH members and certainly anyone else interested, Esoteric Junkie has a great idea! He and I texted each other and here is what we are potentially thinking about and would greatly appreciate people's thinking especially @Backyardsniper who set up one in KY along with an upcoming one in NC I believe. "A wise man takes wise council." I am not the wise man I am the man looking for advice...lol!!!

I have a 40-acre piece of land, 12.5 acres in fields and the rest in woods. It is in Pine Mountain, GA 31822 zip code. That is 85 miles south of Atlanta to LaGrange GA which is about 20 miles from the Alabama border to Montgomery. (My son went to Auburn.)

Our initial thoughts are the following:
1. Set up targets some inside the woods and some in the fields for a walking shoot.
2. I know an awesome barbecue place that I could get a lunch for us and have tables and chairs for the field to eat.
3. Plenty of room for parking.
4. My farm is easy and very straight forward to get to.
5. This would be a big bore shoot...375 and up certainly any 9.3+ acceptable as an example...our point is this is not a Deer shoot course but one for Africa.

Our questions:
1. How many targets should we have for a good shoot?
2. I am thinking of just blocks of wood with regular targets on them clearly abiding to safety rules of knowing the shots will not travel far beyond.
3. Would love to see if anyone is using the 5 target packages offered on the net of large size Africa animals?...any other target types? If so please direct me to the site.
4. What time of year are people interested in?

If there is interest and successful, this is something we would like to do each year at my farm.

Thoughts and advice please?

I spoke with @Esoteric Junkie today in the phone today. Really enjoyed our conversation. This sounds like it could be quite an enjoyable event for sure.

It is very gracious of @Rare Breed to offer to host on his property. I like the idea of a walking course with targets set up. Y’all keep me in the loop and if there is anything I can do to help get this going, please let me know.

Years ago I got a life size buffalo targets from Safari Press. Not a clue who might carry them now. I think African sporting creations has to scale targets ( if set up at 30yds they appear as they would at 100yds in a 9X scope or something like that )but not sure if they have life size. A skilled artist/ carpenter could probably make targets out of plywood they would just need good dimensions.

I think I would limit myself to no more than 20 rounds. Much more than that I would probably have to drive home cross eyed.

I live in Newnan and can bring this target - 4 x 8 plywood.

I’m thinking 10 targets with each person going through two rounds so no more than 20 shots? I have found life size Africa animal targets…this could be fun!!!

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
