To all the P.H.s/Outfitters who frequent this website:

While most details into what is included/excluded are made very clear on the various websites/postings, what have you found to be the most "common" complaint or misunderstanding amongst clients (new or those who have previously hunted with you) that wasn't "spelled out" in the details?
I must say that when I went last summer, all was what it was expected to be, and there were no surprises......but I'm sure that there are some out there that have had different experiences.

Before we went I asked all kinds of questions. The only surprise was the things they did extra which we had not paid for. Also the way they bend over backwards for us without asking them to. They provided far more than I expected and all with a real happy attitude and smile. I would go back in a split second if I had the money.

Some stupid stuff:

Outfitters perspective:

Not really anything, most has been explained and clarified in a hunting contract which you sign before the safaris commence.

Client perspective:

Publicity of photos - Have clients still and in the past that doesn't want their photos publicize. I suppose it is your right to do so! but we need photos to market our business!

Not huntable species - Had some queries on why the hunter cannot shoot any animal of a specie, why must the PH identify what he must shoot...

Back up shots - i suppose when DG tries to kill you, someone has to intervene, especially if the client is doing his best to run the hundred meter dash under 10 seconds...Even back up shots is required on PG sometimes, especially with a charging bushbuck or blue wildebeest...

Marius you have that exactly right.

Biggest complaint?
"You should warn people how addictive hunting Africa is..."

That is what this site is for Marius. I try and warn people about the addiction to Africa and the evil that is hidden inside of big bore rifles all the time.

Oh, and I won't be around much today.... I'm going to drive two hours to go shoot my Lott, then drive back home. :)

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
