9.3x62

My cz550 9.3x62.
Good story how I came about this rifle.
A gun show was in town close to my parents home. I went down for the weekend and my father and I went to the gun show Saturday afternoon and I seen this rifle on a table and was very interested in it. After my father and I return my mother hands me a $1000 for my wedding the fallowing month. So here im 5 miles away from a beautiful rifle with a $1000 more then I had when I was at the show.
When I left for home I made a quick stop back at the gun show and bought the rifle not telling no one besides my dad. I looked at it as a wedding gift to myself.

My hero!!! :ROFLMAO:

I don't know if this has been discussed in this thread, but the measurements of the 9.3x62 match (very closely) P.O. Ackley measurements for an improved case except for the shoulder angle. .454" shoulder and base measurement which is greater on the 9.3 by a couple thousandths.
I measured the capacity of fired cases from a client's Sauer rifle with Norma ammo, as well as from my Oberndorf Mauser. The water capacity was 78gr. for each.
Factory 9.3x62 ammo is under loaded and inferior to modern standard .35 Whelen loads using modern powders, with it's capacity of 72 or 73gr. of water. That difference, as well as the larger bore size and case shape should have the 9.3x62 out distancing the "modern" .35 Whelen.
But then, John Taylor wrote that the increase from it's original ballistics of soft and solid 286gr. @ 2,175fps didn't need to boost to 2,340fps in the 1920's.
My 9.3x57 (57gr. capacity) did 2,170fps with a re-sized 300gr. Hornady and had only .0002" expansion at the web over a FL sized ctg.

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
