I would say anything up to a standard pressure of 65,000PSI is fine. That is the SAAMI standard for .270 Win. .338/06 and 6MM Rem. All those are tapered cases. The straighter the case, the less back or in other words, bolt pressure. Now, would a custom loader do that - maybe not. As with Ackley and Arch, case life is the final test on safe, usable loads. My 9.3x62 brass from the 1980's were converted to .375/06 IMP. and that was after running 285gr. Speers to 2,519fps and 270gr. Speer to 2,675fps. That Speer would be a bomb at those speeds. I also used that brass for 30 years, maybe 15 loads each one. It also is part of the brass supply for my new .375/06IMP. I've only had that one for 20 years.
CIP max (European law) is 57,000psi. AI says the SAAMI max. is 57,500PSI.
Standard .30/06 is 60,000psi, so is the .308 Win., .260 Rem. and a host of other ctgs.
