Is it too early to pack???!?!?! I fly out of Portland, OR for J-Burg in 49 days:biggrin2:

Start packing! Have you been buying last minute items or are you pretty well set?

I have 25 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have already packed/unpacked half my stuff a couple od different times.

It's too early to pack, but not too early to lay out all your stuff.

I head out in 38 days and I have packed and unpacked twice. I keep thinking of ways to save space or I find something else I need.

I brought too many clothes on my first trip. They really do get it washed every evening. I would bring three sets (though two will do). Bring whatever boot you will hunt in (lighter is better - I love Russell PH's) and something casual for travel and the fire pit. Most important thing I had was a polar fleece pullover in olive green and a wool sweater. One or the other or both handled the worst cold mornings and late nights in a leopard blind. Most importantly, they are totally silent.

Leaving in 60 days for Zim!! Starting to finalize the gear selections.

What are you transporting your ammo in? I leave 8/8 and start organizing this weekend. Good hunting!

I have most of my ammo in a small pelican case in my checked luggage. A small pistol case with 2 boxes in my wife's checked luggage.

Good luck to you!

Same here. I am putting mine in a small Pelican case inside my checked luggage.

Just under 60 days for me to leave for RSA!!!!!!

Oh, I'm using a plano case from Cabela's for my ammo. Will transport it in checked luggage.

Part of the fun of any hunting trip is the organizing of the gear in anticipation of leaving. But, no matter how many trips we go on and no matter how little clothing and gear we pack, it will always end up to be much more than we actually need. . . funny how that works.

Have a great time and shoot straight!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
