460 accuracy

You younger guys - "GO FOT IT!!!"

This 60-year old geezer has limited out with a .44 Mag...

As far as handguns are concerned, I'm into .22's and 10mm's
I truly find my .480 Ruger Superblackhawk to be easier shooting than my .44 mag S&W PC Light Hunter. They are both within 2 ounces of each in weight…

Something about the .480 driving lower pressures with a heavy bullet just works so well.

(*double hearing protection is definitely mandatory with either gun)

My .44 Magnum is a S&W 629 with a 8 3/8" barrel, so the recoil is somewhat subdued by the weight of the revolver.

I had a Taurus Ragging Bull in 454. Notice and note the "had". It was fine with 240 and 260 grain bullets but the 300 grain Slugs Of Disaster, loaded below max, were anything but fun. If,,, if someone built a lever gun in 460, 16 inch barrel, I would consider it.

Ok would you mind explaining that one? I have no idea what you mean but I'm not mechanically dysfunctional so if it's beneficial I'll give her a whirl
Sure thing! Use the pin gauges to measure all of the chambers. Best case scenario, they are all a bit undersized. Use the reamer to open each up to the same diameter (bullet diameter or slightly smaller for cast, equal or tiny bit oversized for jacketed). Worst case is they are all oversized and you’re stuck. Reality is somewhere in between and then the idea is to minimize chamber differences. This assumes that the forcing cone/barrel likes the chamber diameter. After all the chambers are the same or close, now experiment with loads.
