A major score! On page 14 of my internet search I stumbled across a gun shop in Michigan that had 2 boxes of 416 Ruger brass. Have not seen 416 Ruger "In-Stock" for months. It's used for my custom 404 Ruger (necked up with no other changes). I also found 3 boxes of 400gr SN 0.423 bullets. Time to get loading!

Glad you found some brass. You can also use 375 Ruger brass

For sure, but that's been even harder to find. I was considering buying 375Ruger ammo and just pulling projectiles and dumping the powder. Glad I found a little brass to keep things going.

I am curious to hear the results from your load testing for your .404 Ruger. What bullets are you using, grain weight? What are your performance goals? I found that once past 2400 fps, the 400 grain .423" bullets start to generate more recoil than I like.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
