Since I was shooting 64 grains of Power Pro Varmint behind the 220 Hammer Hunter I decided to try 63.5 grains of Power Pro Varmint behind the 225 TSX

The results

Always interesting to see chrono results. The extra 0.5gr doesn't really give you any more velocity and has a higher standard deviation.

How was accuracy?

So drop about 75-100 fps for the 4 inches of longer than standard barrel. Puts you at about 2800 fps or so.
I loaded up to 61 grs of Varget in mine the other day with some 225 gr Nosler Parts with about MOA accuracy but no chrono on it, with the 24" bbl on my Ruger No. 1 I would imagine its pretty close to 2800 fps, Varget being slightly faster than your powder.
I scored a couple pounds of CFE223 recently and plan to try it as well though I know the Ruger likes it already having tried a couple loads from another rifle in it.

Does anyone know where I can find some CFE223. I bought a 9.3x62 and don’t really have much powder in that burn rate. I have some IMR 4064 that I can try, but everything else I have in that burn rate is part of a pound. Doesn’t leave much for load development. LOL.

I was told I could use data for a 35 Whelen for a given bullet weight and can probably go up a couple more grains.

Welcome to the CFE223 band wagon mate you won't be disappointed. It works in cartridges from 222 rem up

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
