Age out of gun ownership? Those words don’t make sense to me...
I hear you. But the average age folks get rid of their collection is 65. Me? I'm still lusting.

As the Baby Boomers age out of gun ownership, some very nice customs are coming up for sale. Here's one:

The ,338-06 would be a great cartridge for someone with a bunch of ‘06 cases laying around. I have a bunch of .338 WM cases laying around, so find me a .375-.338! Ha! Ha!

Too many memories in my guns. My son can sell them when I’ll gone if he doesn’t want them!

Unfortunately, some people become physically or mentally unsound and want to help out their wives by selling off their collections while they can.

If the day comes when I can no longer go hunting
I will gather my kids and grand kids and let them pick which ones they would like, except for a couple that will be transferred to Africa, and one I’ll keep just in case I can get out one more time.

I have a .338-06 that's a rebarreled Remington 798 with laminated stock. That rifle definitely has more eye appeal to the point I'd be reluctant to hunt with it, mine probably weighs a bit more to help with recoil.

I have a spreadsheet with all my guns values and where to sell them - by girl will have no hassles nor annoyed by the vultures - I dispose of a lot of collections - the offers the widows receive are insane !

@WAB
Inf I age out of hunting I will just take a long walk in a short paddock. You will find me in the bush with my gun in my dead hands still in the bush hunting.

Where did you pick up that factoid? None of my gun toting friends are divesting at that age. Still adding to my collection heading into 68. Taking my newest addition out hunting this weekend.

@CoElkHunter
Well neck those case up to 35 cal and have a nice almost 358 Norma mag isstead of wasting time on that 338

@postoak
Ive been mentally unsound for years just ask anyone that knows me. I help my wife and love it.
One if the best ways of helping her is to go hunting. That way I'm not at home annoying her.
Win win.
She gets peace and quiet, I get to hunt and have fun. What's not to like.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
