So after 2 years of planning, carefully searching, reading, studying, lurking on this site and then joining. Practicing ridiculous amount of shots, different angles and positions, and too many bruise shoulders to mention and custom made snap caps to focus on speed. After Obsessing, reading, watching videos and hearing everyone else's African adventure. The time has finally come. Tomorrow I am wheels up flying direct from Dulles to South Africa. I can't wait!!! Due to some changes in plans I won't be shooting much if any trophy plains game (but told there is plenty to cull), but will have the privilege to hunt 2 of the Big 5.

Thank you to everyone on AH. Your stories have kept me pumped up, your advice as been priceless and I look forward to telling everyone my story. I will post pics and the story as I have time and everyone will get a full report when I get back. I haven't even left and I am already anticipating my next trip.

As my screen name says, starting tomorrow I will be living the dream!!!!!

Lol, this week one year ago I began my first African hunt. I didn't hardly sleep the last night at home, on the plane, or the first two nights over there. Never got by that long on so little sleep, and never felt wider awake. Good luck!

Congratulations on making it happen!

Hope you have an awesome experience, looking forward to the report...

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
