Hunting multiple of the same species on one hunt?

When I first discovered I could actually afford an African safari, I looked forward to hunting as many of the different African animals as I could afford.

My second and upcoming third trip I still have that same concept.

Cull hunts excluded.

Just out of curiosity.

Is there any reason why a hunter couldn't spend there time in Africa just hunting as many:
Impala?
Watthorg?
Blesbuck?
Buff?
Blue wildebeest?
Black wildebeest?
Etc, etc, etc....?

As the hunter wanted, (or can afford), returning each time hunting as many of that same soecies?
 
As Hank Williams sang,"If you've got the money outfitters have the time." Paraphrased. I've hunted springbok on all three of my safaris. The outfitters like them for camp meat, what doesn't go to charity. No problem hunting multiples.
 
As long as the outfitter can supply the critters and you can pay the bill, I don't see why not....
 
Newboomer, I don't mean shooting i.e. 1 blesbuck each time a hunter takes a trip, I meant a hunter goes on a trip i.e. to Africa only to hunt several i.e. common blesbuck on each trip.

Africa has the "Big 5", the "Danger 7", the "tiny 10", "spiral horn slam",
blesbuck, springbuck, and various waterfowl, "slams", such a wide variety of other types of plains game to hunt.

I am just curious as to why or does anyone go to Africa to hunt 3,4,5,6, (or more) "trophy" class, (not on a cull) hunt for one type animal for 7 or more days.

Here in the lower 48, US, we are limited to deer, elk, bear, cougar, and pigs as our big game animals. Of course there are places that offer "exotic" non native animals to hunt.
 
There was someone around here on AH ( I can't remember who?) that hunted multiple Kudu on multiple trips. All good and to each his own
 
Shouldn't be a problem.

We hunted two gemsbok on our last trip- a Male and a female. Wanted to get a pedestal mount with both on it.
 
Depends on the country. In Namibia you are allowed two of a species on your license. I don't think there is a limit in RSA.

Depends. As noted above, some countries limit the take per license - this is particularly true in free-range areas. Also, many free range areas limit the number of animals by species that an operator may take from his concession. If hunting game ranches, many (better, larger ones) have self-sustaining populations that are managed through very careful shooting plans. That plan will include X-number of kudu, oryx, etc. If the operator owns the ranch, then he will decide how many of those trophy quality animals can go to a single hunter. If he is buying permits from a land owner, he will have to decide how many he can afford ahead of time. Both will do the math on losing daily rates to a hunter shooting multiple trophy quality animals that might have been allocated to another hunter. Few operations would be able to handle a hunter simply showing up and saying I only want to shoot several kudu or any of the high demand species. All that said, anything is likely possible (where legal) if you work it ahead of time with the right outfitter and can write a large enough check.
 
Go for it! As long as the outfitter has the extra available species, why not if thats what you want!
 
I will not take a trip to shoot multiples of a single specie, but will shoot any large warthog I see.

There is a well know and very wealthy gentleman in Spain that has shot more than one hundred buffalo. He travels just for that. I don´t know him personally but know his customs agent :D
 
Only if it's bigger than the last one I hunted.
That slows the multiples on the same trip.
 
How about outfitters and PHs on AH, have you ever had a PG hunter show up only wanting to hunt (not culls or nuisance animals) several of only one species?

I tend to think like this also. I had 2 buff on license in Tanzania, killed a good one on day 2 and spent the rest of the safari looking for a giant. I ended up passing on several nice hard bossed bulls in the 38-40" range, I only "shot" them with the camera. That said I did shoot 2 baboons .

I don't see a problem if the hunter wants to shoot multiples.
 
If the trackers/P.H. eyes get big and they start to get excited, I will get on the sticks no matter what species it is or if I already have one. Otherwise I generally don't shoot multiples.
 
A lot of people hunt whitetail deer every year in the USA. I don’t see a problem with people targeting a favorite animal every trip or shooting a bigger animal than they have taken in the past.

Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

I have made it to Atlanta this morning, few other outfitters on same flight and our luggage never came trough, looks like mine will go via France to Denver hope it gets there before the ISE show starts on the 8th TOMORROW!
