I'm not a first time hunter, just first time plains game and Africa in general
Not sure when yet, most likely second half of 2027 or 2028.
Not really a trophy hunter, more the experience
My fitness isn't the best anymore which will be a limiting factor as to what type of hunt.
I'll most likely use their firearms just to make things easier.
Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what would be a suitable Hunt.
Thank you

A lot of great sponsors on this site that can take care of your hunt. They are wrapping up their seasons now and next year's promotions are starting to come out. Good deals will be available. Talk with them and seek out plenty of references.

90% of outfitters in South Africa and Namibia would easily accommodate you. Regardless what hunters say, most plains game hunts don’t involve a lot of walking. It’s spot and stalk from the vehicle. If stalk is busted you move on to the next opportunity. Eland, dangerous game, and mountain/mountainous hunts are something different than the standard plains game hunt. Look at the deals section. There are a lot of offers that should fit what you are looking for.

Very good idea, I'm even thinking about a cull Hunt and maybe adding a couple of trophy class as add ons

Thanks for the information, I don't want to waiste the PHs efforts either

I can recommend Game 4 Africa in the Eastern Cape of South Africa they can cater to all and offer affordable hunting including cull packages as well as trophy hunts. There are many hunt reports on here for them

I will second the @GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS recommendation. They are a AH sponsor and have a bunch of great hunting reports.

The PH's time and effort won't be wasted. They are there to help you achieve your hunting goals. You are paying them for their time and effort for the time you are paying to hunt there.

As long as you inform them in advance of your limitations, and try your best, they will do their best to get you on animals within the best of your capabilities and theirs.

You're wasting no ones time and effort as long as you're honest up front with your abilities, which you are. A good outfitter will tailor your hunt to you. Most have a lot of different terrain they hunt so they won't take you to the rougher areas and such but they will still provide a quality hunt. Communication is the key. So first determine what kind of hunt you want. What animals? How much time, and what kind of budget. Then start looking and talking to outfitters.

I hunted w Danie Massyn/Linyati Safaris in July 2026. Hunt was my 3rd African safari and was terrific. Lots of game. Lodging great as was food. Safari vehicles first class. Staff top notch. He will cater to your wants and capabilities. I went w a friend. It was his first safari and we both had a ball. I would highly suggest them.

Rob,

@JKO HUNTING SAFARIS had a client from Australia that I had an opportunity to meet in 2019 when our hunts overlapped a day or two. A great funny gent who was there for the experience too. He was fighting cancer at the time. He just passed this past August, ironically while I was in Africa on a hunt.

I suspect not being in the best fitness is not so bad as fighting cancer. Jacques @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS can accommodate you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
