Free Booze and Food! January 9th, 2027 (6th year in a row!)

Hi Dave, please put me down for one. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Thanks, Brendon
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you at TTHA man! I think this years party will be the best one so far..

I am 2 maybe's and 1 for sure. And that a great price of a hotel room anywhere in DFW that's nice.

Looking forward to seeing you again! I agree.. $89 wont get you a Motel 6 around here anymore.. certainly not a room at a full service Marriott property.. and this particular property is actually very nice.. good restaurant.. very nice rooms.. nice meeting spaces.. and the "party room" we have is outstanding.. its not just 4 walls and a ceiling.. its got great decor, big TV's where we can play hunt videos, put sponsor logos up on the walls,. etc...

Checking flights out of Knoxville. After hearing about last year, I wished I had been there so bad!

Theres a couple of direct flight options out of McGee Tyson that are usually fairly affordable.. My COO lives in Hardin Valley.. he flies here to meet a couple of times a year..

I think we might be able to get a bouncy house in there…

I will be there. I think this is my 4th year in a row. Looking forward to it.

Very nice hotel and restaurant and bar!
I have stayed there last two shows thanks to Dave and Rhonda.

Weighing attending DSC this year. It’s tough when that is the peak of the whitetail rut locally….

I'll wear those extra tight jeans just for you this year... :D
Well heck, that’s all you had to say! :ROFLMAO: We will be there. Me and Mama will be there and we would like a room as well. I am sure I will not be able to drive.

Safe hunting

If you are going to have top shelf $6 a bottle whiskey, put me down,!

Robert

lol... somehow folks figure out how to target the top shelf every year.. even when its been more obscure labels..

i had (past tense) Willet Family Estate 12 year rye, Whistle Pig 18 year, and a limited edition, signed bottle of Hooten Young 12 year.. and a couple of bottles of Macallan 15 year... None have survived lol...

I still havent figured out who got into the KAH Day of the Dead tequila.. thats a limited run pure sipping tequila.. somebody must have been doing body shots in the back yard or something.. we went from full, unopened bottle to completely empty in 3 hours in 2024 lol..

A VERY exciting annoucement.. R&M Firearms in El Campo has agreed to sponsor this years party.. they'll have a table set up at the party with some wares available to purchase.. if anyone is looking for a good deal on optics or any other non 4473 type item, let @Mark Biggerstaff know in advance and he can arrange to bring it up with him..

Mark and R&M have always been great to us and have provided lots of door prizes and give aways at all of the prior parties ranging from SWAG like hats and shirts to binos, scopes, knives, and a host of other things.. They are a huge part of making this party the success it always is... I cant think Mark and R&M enough for the support.. stepping up into a sponsor role this year is hugely appreciated..

We're talking to a few other folks about also sponsoring.. but R&M was first to commit.. huge THANK YOU to Mark and the crew there..

Its that time of year again! For the 6th year in a row, my wife and I will be hosting the @Bos en Dal SAFARIS party in the Dallas area, on the night of January 9th (Saturday) during TTHA.

For those unfamiliar with the party, the first year was done in a hotel hospitality room during DSC 2022. We then brought into our home for the next 4 years and its grown to a pretty big event with roughly 60 people showing up the last few years (mostly AH members).

Every year has been a pretty big improvement over the year prior in my opinion with more and better door prizes being presented, mountains of food being available, and as the convention crowd has gotten to know each other a little more each year, the comradery and socializing seems to get closer and better every time we do this as well (its great seeing friends again that you haven’t had a chance to catch up with in a year, make new friends, etc that are like minded, share the same hobbies, and passions, etc)..

We also end up with several vendors that have booths at the show come by as well as industry reps that sell everything from ammo to firearms to suppressors to clothing to travel to knives and other gear.. so chances to meet these people one on one, ask questions, and build relationships there, away from the convention floor is really good too..

Anyway.. while I think most everyone that’s ever attended in the past would tell you it’s a great time.. (see threads, look at pics, read comments)… its time to up our game again and make it even better..

So we’re move the event from our home to the Marriott Convention Center Hotel in Allen, TX (Dallas Suburb.. the venue is slightly closer to the Kay Bailey Convention Center than our home, literally a hundred yards off the interstate and super easy to get to.. a straight shot from downtown)..

The hotel has a really nice event space on the first floor in the lobby that we have reserved that’s got plenty of room for the crowd to continue to grow and expand (our house is comfortable, but 60 people is pushing its limits lol.. and with TTHA growing, my guess is this year we’re likely looking at 70+ people attending, maybe more)..

theres also plenty of parking available (parking at my house has always been challenging).. AND.. if youre coming in from out of town, we have a HUGE benefit to offer… The hotel is offering a discounted rate to @Bos en Dal SAFARIS party attendees.. of $89.00 a night for your entire TTHA stay (I’ll get a link from them soon where you can book your room directly at that rate.. and will post it here as soon as I get it).. This hotel is normally a good bit north of $200 a night whenever there are events in town.. its very nice, when my wife negotiated this rate for party attendees I was blown away.. honestly I was just hoping they might give us a small discount..

We’ve already got a handful of door prizes trickling in.. I suspect we’ll have a pretty nice pile of give aways before the party begins..

As always there is NO CHARGE for admission.. We just want to be a catylyst for getting the AH community that is attending TTHA together and have a good time.. No one is going to give you a sales pitch on a hunt, etc (unless you want to talk to Gerrit about a hunt.. then he would certainly be happy to chat with you)... Parking is FREE whether you are staying at the hotel that night or just attending the party.. We’re providing all of the food and soft drinks at NO CHARGE as usual.. Door prizes are FREE (give aways).. and we’ve got a sponsor that is covering a drink ticket for everyone that attends (Free Booze). Im working on seeing if maybe we can land another sponsor that would cover at least one more drink ticket for everyone as well, after that its a cash bar…

Just like prior years, I would really appreciate anyone that plans on attending to please let me know.. post in this thread, or send me a PM, or shoot me a text.. We don’t need a perfect headcount.. but we do want to make sure we have enough tables and chairs spread around for whatever size crowd we’re going to have, want to make sure there is enough food for everyone, etc.. I don’t want to plan for 50 and then have 70 hungry and thirsty people arguing over the last shrimp cocktail :LOL::LOL:

As we get closer to January, I’ll keep posting in this thread letting people know about door prizes, provide more specific directions, etc.. and will get the hotel discount link posted (we’re a little bit of a haul from downtown.. but I’d challenge anyone to find anything better than a crack house downtown for less than $200 a night.. $89 I think makes it worth considering.. especially if youre coming to the party anyway.. when youre done for the evening, its just a short walk to the elevators from the party room and youre ready for bed..
Hello Sir! Do you know if thw hotel provides shuttles to and from the airport?

Hello Sir! Do you know if thw hotel provides shuttles to and from the airport?

The Marriott in Allen doesnt. Its a bit of a haul (about 35 minutes), but its all interstate.. straight out 121 from the airport to 75, and then the hotel is literally 100 yards off of 75.

Last year once everyone got to the hotel (we probably had 12-15 people in the hotel last year before we ever thought about doing the party there), they started bunching up and sharing uber and/or car pooling to TTHA and to dinner and to the party... Im guessing we'll have 20 or more rooms booked this year with the hotel extending the $89 rate to the party attendees.. I think it will be easy to coordinate with locals in the north DFW area and/or other AH members attending the party and TTHA to get around once you get to the hotel.. getting there the first time though is probably an Uber..

Something I hadnt thought of prior... but will put it out there now.. last year we had a group of TTHA vendors (bos en dal, candles for conservation, MT Maker Knives, etc) and a group of friends all meet and have dinner together Friday night.. it was a group of I think 22 if I recall correctly.. We had a great time..

If anyone local to DFW and/or anyone coming in on Friday wants to get together the night before the party for dinner and drinks, Im happy to coordinate and find a location that can handle us, thats got good food at reasonable prices, etc.. Last year we did Gas Monkey.. it was a blast..

FWIW this is the hotel that the party will be at, and where $89 rooms will be made available for attendees:

https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hote...s-allen-hotel-and-convention-center/overview/

DO NOT book rooms yet.. we're working on getting a link that you can click that will take you to a booking page that gets you the discounted rate.. Theres no risk of the hotel selling out (yet) so no hurry to get your rooms reserved.. theyre relatively empty that week, which is why they are offering us the big discount.. but.. they are in the process of trying to book some other event in the next door convention center that could take up a lot of rooms.. if that happens I'll let everyone know and you'll want to jump on a room quickly..

If you click that link above and check out current room rates, they are $205 - $362 a night (they change regularly based on how full they are, time of year, etc..etc..).. they are giving us an INCREDIBLE deal at $89..

Do you mind me asking what auction you are referencing? I'm not in the market for any of those rifles...just curious.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer
