MOZAMBIQUE: BOTSWANA: SOUTH AFRICA: Mozambique, Botswana, & South Africa - In Progress

Have a great trip. Shoot straight!! Looking forward to the hunting report.

Safe travels and looking forward to this hunt report.

Looking forward to this report!

Henk and Riaan are fantastic guys.

Lots of Tiny Ten in Coutada 10, other game as well.
Great time of year to be there as well. Some leftover quota may be available on some game that wasn’t taken over the year.

Made it to Beira. Big rain. Sitting in the lounge. Likely staying the night to look for a weather window to fly tomorrow.

Emirates flights were great. Great service, newer planes, and good food and plenty to eat and drink. Little over a 3 hour layover at Dubai. Flight from Dubai to JNB was on time and uneventful.

Once at Joberg I Great VIP service from Gracy from just off the plane, to the front of the line at the first customs/passport checkpoint, to luggage carousel, to SAPS where Bruce already had my rifle and large checked bag with my ammo still inside and in it’s locked box.

My rifle case was unopened by SAPS based on the tape I put on in SF. Bruce just handed me my permit! I asked if they opened it? He smiled and “so no boss, they didn’t need to”…

Then Bruce took me directly to the Airlink counter to an agent to weigh the rifle case and the ammo, tagged and checked in my big luggage. Then we went over to check in my rifles and ammo for the Beira flights. Finally taking me all the way downstairs to clear through departing document and passport check.

For this type of trip it’s well worth the VIP fee. All my permits and Moz Visa were in order and made everything easy to get through checks at Beira.

AirTags worked great tracking everything…

If you’re staying at the Senna hotel, try the tiger prawns, they are very good or the Pare’-Pare’ chicken.

Looks like the rains are early this year, my recollection was October was really hot and dry. Great time to sit on the pans especially for nyala.

Finally got pictures to load again.

Glad I brought a light rain jacket…

A few other items I travel with:

Battery charger bank, LifeStraw, RFID Travel neck wallet for (Passport, cash, boarding pass, spare credit cards), and a memory phone ass pillow for those long flights - for my narrow unpadded ass!

I also run my local bottled water through the LifeStraw for drinking and brushing my teeth. I’m not lucky, so why take a chance on 3rd world or local bottled water… No offense!

Watch is a Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar. Love this watch. It also pairs with Garmin App, but has plenty of stand alone features. Not sure about the solar capabilities, but it holds a 30 day charge +/- depending on use.

It has several built in apps. The weather app is good, along with health, a great flashlight, and tide chart for those that fish when we are not hunting…

Trying to get in as many helpful posts as possible before the hunt starts and service diminishes.

I’ll post my Vaccine and prescription medication choices soon.

**Anti-vaxxers look away or ignore my threads!

Philip Glass has a coupe great packing videos. He was also kind enough to share his updated packing list, which is very well organized and similar to the one I use, but definitely added a few items I needed!

I’ve tried compression bags and had luck with them. I mostly use Velcro straps. I compress and roll everything up really tight and then strap them tight.

Did you take some footwear that you don’t mind getting wet? When you head to the swamp line for your buffalo you are going to get your feet wet.

Yep, Second pair of boots are Timberland that hold up well when wet and still provide Ankle support…

Hello, I asked the question I did simply to bump it to the top for you. I have a 416 Taylor or I would be very interested in it! It's a real beauty!
Gents, if you book and pay your deposit before the end of this year , you can have the bigger cull package for the 2026 price! https://www.africahunting.com/threa...griffiths-safaris-starting-at-us-2-560.96285/

Good Evening. I am very interested in you hunt for the spiral slam. March in 2028 would be fine for me

Couple of quick questions:

1) Can we add some additional species on
2) what do you want for a deposit?
3) how do you want me to sign up

I'm on whats app or email

have a great evening
