Rigby would like to know your caliber preference(s) for a Highland Stalker model without iron sights

What caliber(s) would you like to see offered in a Rigby Highland Stalker without iron sights?

Seems like if one wants a sightless model one can grab a screw driver and take the sights off. What other features will be added to the "sightless" model if it is offered for sale?
FOR $15K I WOULD LIKE MY RIFLE NOT TO HAVE FILLER SCREWS AND A DOVETAIL BLANK TO REPLACE IRONS.

The previous posts about silencer use are spot on. Especially in Europe, and likely gaining ground in the US with recent regulatory changes. With that in mind, introducing it in popular European calibers (which may include the 308) may make the most sense, followed by (as mentioned before) the likes of a 257 Bob or 25’06 in the US, along with 275 of course.

I may have as much nostalgia for vintage British rifles, including their brand specific irons, as anyone here, but I get it. I also get not diluting the brand. Perhaps call it the “silent stalker”. That’s likely what it really is.

As an aside, the last time I hunted the Scottish highlands for stag it was with a rented rifle. It had a silencer and no irons sights. We still had a great time. And the stalking there is far different than most of Southern Africa. You use the folds of the terrain on mostly barren ground. Close shots are not common.

Please make a left-hand Highland Stalker. Until then, I buy German. In regards to your question, the 7mm Rem Mag, to me, is not meant to have open sight. So that would work.

Why not put open sights on all rifles?

I would always rather have them than not have them.

If the scope is 3X or more, open sights "disappear," on every rifle I have.

I think that would depend on the scope and mount height.
And the stock would play a point in it to
I know my 8-32x56 you would see the front sight

I'm sure your right, based on your experience.

That 8-32 must be a magnificent optic.

All of my Leupold and Zeiss scopes make the front sight completely disappear when dialed to 3X or more.

What scope do you use, if you don't mind me asking?

Believe it or not I bought the thing to go on a ar originally.
I was trying to use a 223 on deer and wanted to be able to aim really small ( don’t really like 22 cf on deer)
The scope worked grate for a low price scope. For its size.
It fit on the Heavy 700 so well looked at the paper work that came with it and it matched the 100 6 mm rem corlock load .
So I stared playing with it. It works well on paper out to 800yds ( my longest safe to shoot in hay feild)

All three of my DG Scopes are Leupold 1.5-5X.

I've never seen the front sight on any scope that I own, after I pushed the magnification to 3X or beyond.

But, I've never owned a Pentex.

That 56 at the end of the tube
On that rem it below the front sight ramp.
I think that’s the difference
I have a old cz 6mm with a 4-16x44 and I had to remove the sights on it to. But you can barely get a $ bill between the bell and the barrel. But the sight we’re really high off the barrel.
On the cz I would have perferd to have kept the sights on. It would be a stalking type rifle

But honestly over the years I learnd to shoot with out the best cheek to stock fit.
First scoped rifle a 94 with a side mount
Then a mar 4 303 and I shot a lot of a1 and a2 ars with the little scope on top of the carry handle

I know with some of my scopes the front sight is in their field of view but I have never noticed them. I have too consciously look for them, so not a problem and I thought I was easily distracted. :)

Regardless of sights or no sights, a really winner calibre and one that would make Rigby stand out from the crowd would be the inclusion of the .318 Westley Richards!

Maybe make a limited run, i am sure they will sell like hot cakes!

Maybe I am a freak of nature, but at 61, I have no problem aiming with iron sights...

Cartridge wise, I would personally lean towards 30-06, but, the 308 would be practical option due to it but commonly use with a scope and a suppressor.

And as much as I like the looks to the Highland Stalker, a higher comb would not be a bad thing for most users. And, as for sans sights, I prefer the look of sights on a rifle, and with getting ready to start my 6th decade, Presbyopia has caught up with me... So, over the last three years I've had to accept that I'm a better shot with a scope now.

I would never call you a freak, but you are blessed. Ones that way I until about three years ago. And last summer in RSA I discovered how much I like an illuminated reticle.

IF Rigby were to ever make a tadeonal looking heavy barrel varmint rifle on their HS sized action what caliber would it be ?

.220 Swift....now how nice would that be ! Varmint hunting with Rigby class....Irons not needed !
