Hilarious that you think Beretta would "improve" Ruger rifles... the American was built for the entry level market, the M77 has always been a mid-range, working man's rifle... that was the intent and it accomplished that admirably, as five decades in the bush for work and pleasure has proved to me over and over again.

JJ REGULATED IT TO SHOOT FACTORY 400GR TBBC. DOESNT SEEM REAL PICKY THOUGH SO WHEN WE NEED TO FIND A 500GR SOLID FOR CLOSE WORK I DONT THINK IT WILL BE A PROBLEM.

Pre-64 M70 and an early 1980’s Ruger No 1. According to the original owner, the M70 was factory equipped with the peep site with no barrel rear sight.
