Up for consideration -
Filson Hunting Jacket - Shelter Cloth, Sz Med
$200 + S&H
Filson Hunting Vest - Shelter Cloth, Sz Med
$150 + S&H
Garments are in like new condition. Both are cut for movement when swinging a rifle/shotgun, and to allow for layering with Filson's Wool Bomber Jacket or Wool Cruiser Vest. The Vest has a game pouch built in ....
Buy both for $300 or $350 with no S&H cost
Both garments were worn once, then placed in a drawer. Both were purchased to replace my current Hunting Jacket/Vest for when those wore-out, well it hasn't happened or I'm just too superstitious.

Very nice gear. My 5th grade self would have looked great in them. HAHA! GLWS! Excellent gear.
Appreciate you looking and responding .... I typically use Filson or Schaefer, the quality has been very good, and why I'm attempting to sell the jacket & vest, my current stuff is still usable. The two pieces have been sitting in a drawer for several years.

Although, doesn't seem to be much interest ....

I’ve got a vest and it’s one piece of hunting clothing I’ll never get rid of.

Nice to see Made in USA. These must indeed be a few years old.

I recently ordered the dry wax journeyman jacket from Filson. Liked the style, fit and function. But it was $250 and... Made in Sri Lanka. Which I understand in the case of inexpensive clothing. But I wasn't going to pay Filson prices for that. It went right back.

Another great American company ruined by Private Equity bros. (IMHO YMMV LOL)

Could you please measure the jacket arm pit to arm pit? Do they run true to size or a bit large?
This particular Jacket is designed for movement when shooting layered , sweater - wool liner - wool vest. Both garments have gussets/pleats to keep material tucked or expanded based movement or layers. Also, it is a true hunting jacket, the sizing or construction is designed to allow the wearer to load up necessary gear in the pockets and not have the contents hinder movement or shooting,
As I stated, I'm only selling this set because I have yet to wear-out same set I already have. After 15yrs. of use, every season, my current set just gets better with age. I was packing for a trip & came across the box the jacket & vest were in, stuffed in a cedar drawer. Still have the original tag(s), just didn't include those in the pictures because I had worn this once to an event.

Jacket
Chest (armpit - armpit) measurement is 23inches , so true to fit
Sleeve (collar - cuff) measurement is 30 inches
Length (shoulder - hem) 30 inches
Vest
Chest (armpit - armpit) measurement is 22inches
Length (shoulder - hem) 28 inches

If you are a Regular Medium 40 - 42 chest (suit/sports coat measurement) the jacket & vest are a perfect fit.

If you are a Slender Medium 38 - 40 chest (suit/sports coat measurement) the jacket & vest will be slightly loose.

Hope that helps.

Appreciate you reviewing the ad.
Yes, I this particular jacket/vest design is part of Filson's mid '90s - early 2000s line of * Field Wear * more accommodating to Hunting / Field Trialing / Guiding

MFG of certain lines started being offshored in the 2000s ..... however, some legacy garments are still MFG - CONUS

If you are still in search of a jacket , the Filson Bell Bomber Jacket, it is similar in design to the Journeyman , but the Bell Bomber was made in the flagship Seattle factory.

I wear a size large jacket but prefer a medium upland vest to keep things snug through the shoulders so my shotgun doesn't get tangled in fabric when mounting quickly. But my Browning vest has expandable game bag. Not sure if Filsons has that feature. I think my vest is only six or seven years old but already worn out. No fault of quality. I hunt hard and in heavy cover. Badly bloodstained too. It will make it one more season with my old dogs and then I will probably retire. Previous vest was Walls. A GREAT product unfortunately no longer made.

Appreciate you taking the time to review the ad.
The jacket does not have a game bag, the vest does, however it is not expandable. It does have pleats/gussets to allow for game to be added. The vest I use (same style as seen in ad) can hold 5 pheasants without looking like the "michelin man" or being cumbersome with other gear.
I've not experienced any issues shouldering my shotguns when wearing my jacket or vest, but that is anecdotal.

As an aside, my brother-in-law wore my current jacket once, on hunting outing as he did not have a suitable one for wingshooting. He wears a Large and it fit him, although it was quite snug in the midsection with a sweater as a warming layer.

I’ve had a Filson shelter cloth upland jacket and vest for 25 years. I’ll either die in it or be cremated in it, but I’d never get rid of it. Very good gear. GLWS.

Appreciateyou reviewing the ad. I have the same experience,
the set in the ad was a secondary purchase, my thinking was my first set would eventually wear out with hard use .... well it hasn't and I see no point in storing something indefinitely.

Wading through the above comments, I don't see that anyone has purchased either of the garments- that being the case, I'll take both of them. DM being sent to exchange info.
